October 26, 2014 THE THIRTIETH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME THE PASTOR COLUMN LA COLUMNA DEL PARROCO ~ October 26, 2014~ ~26 de Octubre de 2014~ My Dear Parishioners, Queridos Parroquianos, This past weekend our parish joined church communities around the world to celebrate 100 years of the apostolic movement of Schoenstatt. It was on October 18, 1914 that Father Joseph Kentenich made a covenant of love with the Blessed Mother and asked her to make each Schoenstatt Shrine a place of grace. Our parish is a place of grace because Our Lady has come here in the miraculous image of Our Lady of Schoenstatt. We are privileged to have her with us and we honored her at the 4:00 pm Saturday evening Mass. The Schoenstatt Movement brings the visit of Our Lady to us through the mobile shrine or missionary image. During the visit of Our Lady, families pray the rosary and make a covenant of love with the Blessed Mother and then through her to Jesus. This is the consecration to Jesus through Mary. I want to especially thank our parishioners for their openness and patience on Saturday, October 18th. The Mass was a bit longer but it was marked with a majesty and solemnity that touched the lives of those who attended. The choir sang beautifully and played the song written specifically for this centenary celebration. Special thanks to Jill Baruffi and to all who sang that evening. Pope Francis referred to this day as a day of great grace around the world. Every Schoenstatt Mass is a time of great grace. It is a special Schoenstatt tradition to bring your personal image of the Blessed Mother to Mass on the eighteenth of the month, to place her at the altar, and to bring her home with all the graces received at the Mass. I invite you to bring your image of Mary to the Mass on November 18th at 7:00 pm at Saint Rose of Lima Church. I invite you to experience the joy of Mary’s visit and the power of the prayer of the rosary. Muchas Bendiciones! DIAPER DRIVE Padre Ariel Catholic Charities and the Diocese of Camden have asked for assistance in replenishing their Diaper Bank. The Knights of Columbus will organize the drive in our Parish. The Knights will be collecting Diapers the weekend of November 1st and 2nd after all the Masses. APPOINTMENTS WITH YOUR PASTOR In November, Fr. Ariel will be receiving parishioners on Thursday, November 13th and Thursday, November 20th. Please call the office to schedule your appointment.
