remove a name from the list. Please inscribe the
names of non-parishioners (e.g. family members,
friends, neighbors, co-workers) in the prayer intention
book found in the church vestibule. Please inscribe
their name only once as their needs will be
remembered at Masses throughout the year.
If you are hospitalized or homebound and would like
to receive Communion, please call Andy Kudarauskas
at 843-705-3435.
You may also contact someone from the Eucharistic
Apostles of Divine Mercy who will pray the Chaplet of

My husband likes to photograph the beauty of
creation. He has gotten very good at it, sometimes
zooming in to focus on the details of individual
flowers or butterflies, other times zooming out to
capture the glory of a waterfall, a mountain lake, or
the fiery clouds billowing from one of Hawaii’s
volcanoes into a night sky full of stars.
Several of his photos decorate my office walls.
He’s justifiably proud of each. They’re the work of
his artist’s eye and hand, so he signs them and
takes care to frame them just right.
In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul calls us God’s
handiwork, created in Christ Jesus—not because we
were so amazing (we were, in fact, sinners), but
because he loved us.
John’s gospel echoes the sentiment: “God so
loved the world that he gave his only Son.” If a
human being like my husband can take pleasure in
and be justifiably proud of the work of his own
hands, then how much more can God love his own
handiwork? The answer, of course, is immeasurably
more. God loved us enough to give us himself in
Christ Jesus, who lay down his life for us though we
had done nothing to deserve it.
The photos my husband creates can’t thank him
or give anything back to him, but it is in our power to
thank our Creator, who filled us with life and
redeemed us through Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Today, try to love someone else a little more
out of sheer gratitude that God so loves you.

St. Gregory the Great Adoration Society
“Would you not spend one hour with Me?”
Eucharistic Adoration is adoring the Eucharistic Presence of Christ
Our Perpetual Adoration Chapel gives us an opportunity to spend an hour of prayer and give thanks for the
many blessings we have received. This hour in peace and meditation with the Blessed Sacrament can also be an
opportunity to pray for our friends and family who are sick or just need our prayers. Christ instituted this Holy
Sacrament of the Eucharist in order to remain with mankind until the end of time (Jn. 14:18).
Our wish is to have someone present for each of the 24 hours throughout the day in silent contemplation and
reflection. We can use more adorers for this ministry. Please be generous with your time and sign up for one hour
of adoration
If you have any questions or feel you can sign up for just one hour per week please call John Klinger 757-7454
or send an email to [email protected]
pecado no arrepentido.

particular, somos
muy dados al uso de
imágenes y símbolos
religiosos para
acercarnos a Dios o
No obstante,

during Lent. We will continue with the
same great menu: Deep fried Cod or

In the Beginning …
Next week, March 25th is the
celebration of the Feast of the
Annunciation when Jesus was
conceived by the power of the Holy
Spirit. We celebrate His birth nine months later, on
Christmas Day. Next week will begin a weekly series
of bulletin messages about the development of a
child in the womb, we’ll call him “Chris” — just like
the development of Jesus in Mary's womb.
Together, we will learn of the miracle of our earliest
days of life.
We invite you to join us in spiritually adopting an
unborn baby. Pray for that child during the next nine
months.
Great news!!
Do you need an hour of
quiet prayer time?

the Great now has a nursery for children from 1 year
to 4 years old at the 9:00 a.m. , 11:00 a.m. and

PARISH RETREAT WEEKEND
SPONSORED BY:
CHRIST RENEWS HIS PARISH
Making a retreat involves a sacrifice for nearly
everyone. Who has the time? Nevertheless, every year
busy people do make a retreat. They feel the need to
take time out, to think about their life and their
relationship with God. Not a luxury for a pious few,
retreats are really needed by all of us.
St. Gregory the Great conducts a retreat weekend twice
a year under the spiritual direction of Deacon Greg
Sams, Director of Renewal Ministries, and member of
our Parish. The retreats begin Saturday morning,
include an overnight, and end Sunday afternoon. The
next Women’s Retreat is scheduled for March 21st to
22nd at St. Andrew. Detailed brochures are available at
the back of the Church and at the entrance to the
Adoration Chapel.
For additional information or questions, please contact
Deacon Greg Sams at (843) 384-9336 or
[email protected] .

2015 Lenten Parish Mission
Monday, March 23 through Wednesday March 25 at 7:00 p.m.
Presenter: Father John Anglin, OFM
In a world torn by war, violence and injustice and in a Church dealing with declining membership,
the call that came to Francis of Assisi 800 years - “Go, and rebuild My House” is as vital and
timely today as it was in the thirteenth century world of Francis. This parish mission seeks to put
that call before us and invites us to respond both as individuals and as Church.
Monday Evening: God comes to us in humble love
Tuesday Evening: The Cross: A gift of love and forgiveness
Wednesday Evening: The Cross: Source of meaning in our suffering

THEME: The Way We Pray
"This is how you are to pray."
Prayer is the life of the Church.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church deals specifically
with the Lord's prayer, as well as the general life of
prayer within the Church.
Within Catholicism, there are a host of prayer styles,
prayer traditions, popular devotions, as well as an array
of sacramentals which help to deepen one's life of
prayer and faith.
This session considers how spiritual reading, retreats,
and reflections can enrich our spiritual lives.

Easter Ministry Help Needed
Sign-up sheets for Holy Week and Easter Sunday
will be found on the sideboard outside the usher's
closet this weekend and next weekend. If you will be
in town during that time and are able to help, please
sign up for available times. Your unavailable days for
April should be entered into the Ministry Scheduler
Program by March 18. If you have any questions,
please contact Lynn Conley at [email protected].
Angels Needed
Our Youth Groups at SGG are vibrant and growing.
If any individual or ministry would be willing to
provide dinner for one of our youth groups it would
be greatly appreciated.

Lost and Found Drawer
The Lost and Found Drawer will be emptied on
Monday, March 16. If you have lost keys, glasses or
books, please look in the drawer this weekend.
Thank you!
The simple words “Thank You” do not adequately
convey my deep gratitude for the hundreds of Mass and
greeting cards you have sent me as well as for the
countless prayer offerings you have made for me. The
surgery on February 6 went well and after 10 days of
rest, I was delighted to be back at work. The doctors
believe the likelihood of the cancer’s return to be very
low, thank God, and I shall not need further treatment.
Your prayers helped me surf atop a tsunami of graces
to make this episode quick and easy. Thank you and
thank you again.

PARISH LIFE
Ministry Help Needed
As you are reading this, you are one of approximately 2800 people who attend
one of our Masses on any given weekend. Did you know that about 125 parishioner
volunteers serve as Altar Servers, Lectors, Ushers, Greeters, Eucharistic Ministers
and in the Nursery every weekend? This represents about 4% of our parishioners
serving the other 96% of Mass attendees. If volunteers were assigned one Sunday a month, we would need
over 500 parishioners to help each month.
Currently, we have approximately 350 volunteers to fill the 500 slots needed. Many of these parishioners
have been serving since Saint Gregory the Great first opened our doors. Since you attend Mass and each
ministry requires a minimum amount of time (in all instances arriving early to sign in and in one or two instances
staying a few minutes after Mass is dismissed), would you be willing to lend a hand? It is very simple to
register and can be done completely online.
Login to www.sgg.cc and click on the MINISTRIES box. You will find a description of the Liturgical Ministries
and the name of a contact person in case you have any questions you want answered before you signup. If you
wish to help, click on the Sign Up For A Ministry cross at the top of the page. Complete the form online and
when done, click the Submit for Processing box. Someone will be in touch with you within a month of
submission. If you are not comfortable using a computer, signup forms can be found in the literature rack in the
vestibule and can be placed in the collection basket.
Some ministries need more help than others. For example, ushers and greeters are needed at all Saturday
Vigil and Sunday Masses. Altar Servers are especially in need at the 4:00 & 6:00p.m. Saturday Masses. The
5:00 p.m. Sunday and the 6:00 p.m. Saturday need help in all areas. Please consider giving of your time to
volunteer at Saint Gregory the Great as we serve God.
