Page 3 September 20, 2015 PASTOR’S REFLECTION Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time September 20, 2015 Dear Friends, We often have very high expectations of “the church community.” We seem to forget that the Church is divine in foundation (and lead by the Spirit of God)... but sinful in integration (as we are the members). In the Gospel of today we are told that even the followers of Jesus are not immune to the sinfulness of the world… as the apostles are arguing over who is the greatest. Jesus reminds them and us that the only remedy for these failures is to commit ourselves to be the servant of all. • How am I serving my church community? Be assured of my prayers for you and for your dear ones. May the good Lord bless you with wisdom and peace. Please pray for me. In Christ, Msgr. Pablo A. He will visit our nation’s capital before attending the World Synod on the Family in Philadelphia. This time coincides with the time when we shift into a period of learning and change of routine in family life. As members of the Church, we welcome the Pope’s presence among us. We celebrate an opportunity to know that he is in our midst for a brief time. Yet, we pray that, as leader of the Church, he will awaken in our minds and hearts the importance of our faith in today’s society. • We pray that we will hunger for a deeper understanding of our faith as we participate in programs and events in our parishes that increase our knowledge of the Catholic faith and Church teachings. Me acepto, me caigo bien y me perdono.
