The mission of the Birth to 3 Program ICC is to advise and assist the Wisconsin Department of Health Services with implementation of an effective early intervention system. The ICC membership is a combination of governor-appointed parents and professionals. Every year, an ICC meeting is held at the Circles of Life Conference (COL) as an opportunity to outreach with parents and professionals. Please consider attending the ICC meeting while at the COL Conference and hear about the work of the ICC. Throughout the year, the ICC maintains an ongoing forum for communication with stakeholders. It is a hands-on training exercise in independence, transitioning, decision making, and self advocacy for those over the age of 13. Registration is due by April 10, 2015. Sibshops: Something special for brothers and sisters ages 6-17 who have siblings with special needs. Gathering of Youth (GOY) is a hands-on conference planned by, and for, youth with disabilities. It is a program open to high school-aged youth to advance their independent thinking, decision making, and self advocacy skills as they transition into independent life after high school. It’s about transition as well as setting, striving and reaching goals, and it all occurs in a fun environment. What Is It? Something special for brothers and sisters ages 6-17 who are siblings of people with special needs; registration is limited to 35 youth. Who Can Attend? High school aged youth with disabilities. Registration is limited to 22 youth on a first come, first served basis. Priority will be given to first time participants attending GOY. Those who have participated two or more times are considered only if space is available and will be put on a waiting list and called on a first come, first served basis. Complete the Circles of Life Registration for all family members. Be sure to check the box for Sibshops and include your confirmation number. Youth needing one-to-one personal care or other assistance to participate must bring their own attendant (but no parents!). If you need ideas on how to find someone, contact Bob Barbian (see number below). Requirements Parents are required to drop off and pick up youth both days and accompany them to lunch. Sibshops participants are expected to attend both days of Sibshops. Please bring swimwear. Be sure to check "both days" on the conference registration form and include full payment according to the pricing chart on the registration form. Parents, please be sure to bring youth to Sibshops 15 minutes before the conference schedule begins.
