JESUS CHRIST, KING OF THE UNIVERSE
As Christians, we believe that, in Jesus Christ, his kingdom has
broken into the world, and continues to be made manifest in the
world until the final day of His glorious return. A very early
Christian term, autobasilea, was used to say that Jesus was the
“kingdom-in-himself” on earth. As we, the Church, celebrate
this feast of Christ our King, we recall our own mission through
baptism to be “Christ’s-kingdom-in-ourselves” and to do our
own part to continue introducing his reign wherever it is not yet
a part of this world.
We pray “Your kingdom come” because it isn’t completely
here yet, which is why we likewise pray “Your will be done” so
that it might be.
HATS AND GLOVES
The children Kindergarten through fifth grade
attending Religious Education classes are collecting hats and gloves for the needy. If you can
help, drop off those items at the Religious Ed
building or drop box in church. Thank you and
God Bless!
