FATHER’S CORNER
For three Sundays following Christmas,
we continue this joyful season with special
celebrations. Today, we honor the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. It is easy to
idealize the Holy Family – a father directed by
an angel, a mother free of all sin and a son
who just happens to be God! We often forget
that food had to be put on the table, the
house needed to be cleaned and the diapers
had to be changed.
The Holy Family gives a great model to
follow, not because of their holiness (which is
always good to imitate), but because of their
fidelity to God’s will in their lives. Jesus, Mary
and Joseph each were asked by God to do
his will in a special way – just as he asks each
and every one of us. May we use their example and intercession to help us do God’s will.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS AND FAMILY LIFE:
Parents are called to stand in the place of God in their families. What many parents don’t realize is that they have
been specially equipped to do so, in part by the sacramental
graces of marriage and in part by gifts of the Holy Spirit
given to all Christians at Baptism. How can you discern
the gifts that God has given you for the sake of your family? How can you help to discern the gifts God has given
to your children? On January 22 & 23, Sacred Heart
Church (Boise) will host a two-day program, the Called &
Gifted Workshop that will teach about the gifts of the
Holy Spirit that all Christians have been given and that are
already at work in our lives. Cost is $75. Registration
forms are available at http://sacredheartboise.org. Call
Carol at Sacred Heart (208-344-8311) for more information.

Well, this year, you can! And it’s as easy as tuning your

Mass live at 1:30 PM on December 24th!
You won’t want to miss this very special event!

both be filled with special programming for the celebration
of the Nativity of Our Lord.

2016 PRAYER INTENTIONS OF POPE FRANCIS
BEGIN
With a daily offering
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my
prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day in union with the
Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world. I offer them
for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart: the salvation of
souls, reparation for sin, and the reunion of all Christians. I offer
them for the intentions of our bishops and of all Apostles of
Prayer, and in particular for those recommended by our Holy
Father this month.
Then, Pray with the Pope
The Pope asks us to pray for two intentions each month: one
Universal Prayer, and one Evangelization Prayer.
U-Universal Prayer
E-Evangelization Prayer
JANUARY
U-Interreligious Dialogue
That sincere dialogue among men and women of different faiths
may produce the fruits of peace and justice.
E-Christian Unity
That by means of dialogue and fraternal charity and with the
grace of the Holy Spirit, Christians may overcome divisions.
With the Advent Season upon us, it’s once again time to
consider your gift list for friends and family. A wonderful way to honor them is to make a donation in their
name to Capstone Mission’s Alternative Gift project!
With decent housing and capable directors in place at
both St. Joe’s and the Hacienda, we are looking at how
to best help the children move into the future with hope
for a better life. All donations received this year will go
towards education for the children, since we know that
education provides the best opportunity to escape the
poverty and neglect these kids have suffered from all
their lives.
Because of poor neighborhood schools, many of the children attend Catholic schools, and all are encouraged to
dream about future professions and occupations. All of
this costs money, and it’s challenging to raise the amount
needed to assure their educational needs can be met.
The Christmas trees in the vestibule contain cards and
envelopes so you can make a donation in honor of a
friend or family member. The ornament with the picture
is yours to keep as a reminder to pray for those who have
been orphaned or abandoned. There is a pre-addressed
envelope for you to mail your donation, or you may place
it in the collection basket. You may fill out the postcard
with the amount you wish to donate and give it to the
person you are honoring with your donation. Suggested
amounts and what they cover are by the trees.
For more information, please call 308-3296 or email

STORAGE CONTAINERS-Capstone Missions is
in need of storage containers for our supply shed in Tijuana. We need the Costco size plastic containers that
held candy or nuts and we could also use milk crate type
containers. They may be dropped off at the parish office,
or call Deb at 308-3296 to arrange pick up.
TRIP TO TIJUANA, MEXICO-The first mission
trip of 2016 is right around the corner and we need volunteers!! The trip will be Jan 2-9, 2016.
This is a great opportunity for college students to attend
as they will still be on Christmas break. There are jobs
for all skill levels; from building shelves and doing electrical, to sorting clothes and holding babies. This is a
great opportunity to help a bunch of kids who, through
no fault of their own, have been left orphans. Help us
improve their lives by joining us for this unforgettable
week. Your life will never be the same again! The cost
of $450 covers almost all expenses, including transportation, accommodations and most food, as well as helping
to pay for the building materials. For more information
or to sign up, call or email Debby Miciak at
[email protected] or (208)308-3296.
OPPORTUNITY-Capstone Missions has a great opportunity to serve Christ helping his orphan children at
St. Joseph's orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico. We are looking for a person who can help with light housekeeping,
cooking and laundry. This is a paid, full-time, live-in
position at St. Joseph’s home in Tijuana. Please contact
Deb Miciak at [email protected] or 208-3083296 or Rosa Davila at 208-944-4660 for more information.

COMUNIDAD CATOLICA DE SAN EDUARDO
TWIN FALLS, ID.
