WELCOME TO HEATHER PEROYEA
Carachipampa welcomes to the CCS family Heather Peroyea as our school nurse on a volunteer basis. Heather will be at school
in the afternoons Tuesdays and Thursdays to assist the school in the nursing area. Thank you, and welcome Heather!
COCHABAMBA DAY IS 14 SEPTEMBER,
The first feriado for this year is Cochabamba Day on Monday, 14th of September. There will be no school on this day. Students
will be in school as normal on Tuesday the 15th. Please enjoy the time away on Monday and come back on Tuesday ready to
learn!
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY 22 SEPTEMBER,
Tuesday, 22 September will be a half day of school for students. It is a Professional Development Day for teachers which will be
in the afternoon. Please take note of these changes
 Grades 1 to 12 classes will end and busses will take students home at 12.00pm noon.
 Morning PK and Kinder will dismiss and the bus will run at the regular time (11:15 AM)
 There will be no afternoon PK or Kinder classes.
 There will be no lunches served in the CCS comedor.
SPORTS NOTICES
Carachipampa has begun our sports practices and will soon be making arrangements for games. This semester we will have both
Boys Soccer and Girls Volleyball The coaches are Srs. Becerra and Carreon for the Boys Soccer and Sra. Gabriela de Valera for
the Girls Volleyball. We thank these fine coaches for their assistance in training our CCS athletes. Students who participate in
the CCS athletic program at any time during the year must take note of these requirements:

All athletes participating in any sports activity for CCS must sign an Athletic Contract and a Permission
Form which must also have a parental signature. The forms have been distributed to students and must be
returned to Mr. Scoggan before students can participate in any game.

Every student athlete must be covered by an accident insurance policy. Students participating in CCS
Sports must bring proof of accident insurance to the school offices. Those who have no insurance through
their families may purchase accident insurance through the school for $14 (USD) for the year.
PALOOZA 2015 EDITION COMING NOVEMBER 13th
Miss Pinard and the CCS EPIC Team are already hard at work getting ideas ready for the 2015 Edition of CARACHIPALOOZA.
This fantastic talent night will be presented on Friday, November 13th at CCS. The theme chosen for this special evening is
Medieval Fairy Tales. Please be watching for further announcements concerning the Palooza, as opportunities for signing up for
this talent filled evening will be made soon
GRADE 11 FRIENDSHIP DAY CARDS WILL BE SOLD
As a fundraiser for the Class of 2017, the 11th Grade students will be making and selling Friendship Cards with a rose or
chocolate to those who have special friends in their lives. The cards will be sold next week during the morning break and lunch.
Prices are: Card and a rose – 5 Bs. Card and a chocolate - 3.5 Bs Combo Special a Card, Rose and Chocolate – 8 Bs
COMPUTER AND TECHNOLOGY USE AGREEMENT
Carachipampa is committed to securing the best technology possible for the educational purposes and instruction of our students.
We recognize that there are both proper and improper ways to use the technology. To avoid the misuse of computers, internet
and other technology that we have access to, we are requiring that all students in Grades 5 and up with their parents sign a
Computer and Technology Use Agreement. This document outlines our CCS guidelines and policies on what students may and
may not access and how they can use CCS computers and technology appropriately. This document has been handed out and
Grade 5 to 12 students are to return it signed by a parent by Wednesday, 16 September.
DROP OFF AND PICK UP PROCEDURES FOR PARENTS
Again we remind parents that they may only pick up and drop off their children in the area between the Ruby Miller Building and
the offices. Parents should not walk with their children all the way to their classrooms. Parents who come to pick up children at
any time should report to the office area first. They should wait in the office or around the Gym entrance until their child is
brought by a CCS staff member.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
As we have already passed 4 weeks of school, we expect that all students will be in uniform. This includes using proper PE
uniforms and CCS sweaters or “hoodies” Anyone out of uniform will need a parental note explaining why the student could not
be in uniform for that day..
HANDBOOK MATTERS
 MEDICATION We remind families that students required to take medication during the school day must notify the school
office and turn in the medicine directly upon arriving at school so that it may be distributed to the student at the proper time.
No medication may be left in student’s backpacks or lockers. Please also bring the prescription or a note signed by a
parent indicating the amount of the medication and when the medication must be given to the student.
 SICK CHILDREN Children who are sick with a temperature or other illnesses should not come to school. Please keep
your child(ren) home until they have recovered. If the sickness is a communicable one such as chicken pox, mumps, or
typhoid, they should remain at home until a time determined by the school nurse in consultation with the family doctor.
 CHILDREN WHO BECOME ILL at school will be sent to the school nurse by a staff member. Only the school nurse or a
member of the office staff (NOT the child or a teacher) may call parents regarding their sickness and ask a parent to come
and collect the child.
 CELL PHONES Cellular phones are allowed at school, but we remind our students and parents that they are brought to
school at the student’s own risk. Use of cellular phones is restricted to lunch times and recess and must be turned off at all
other times during the school day.
VISITORS TO CCS MUST CHECK INTO THE OFFICE
We remind families that to enhance the security of our campus, all guests must receive a Visitor’s Pass from our guard and sign in
at the office with the secretary. Parents should wait in the office area for CCS staff to collect their children for any reason.
CAMP NOTICES
This is the first official notice that camps are coming. All school children in all grades will be expected to be present and to
participate in their age-appropriate camp. No one in the high school will be excused from completing the camp requirements.
Students in Grades 9 to 12 must earn a camp credit in order to graduate. Camps for all classes will be during the week of 05 - 08
October. The High School camp will be at Kewina from Monday to Thursday. The Elementary Grade 4 to 6 Camp will be at
Cabañas BJ (Reducto road). Kinder and Grades 1 to 3 will have their camping activities at school.
The details of each camp including the cost will be sent home to parents in a letter from the camp program coordinators within the
next several weeks.
PSAT NOTICE
This year students in Grades 10 and 11 may take the PSAT on Wednesday, 14th October at Carachipampa. This test is optional.
Students who desire to take this test should be preparing for it now. The cost will be Bs 140 which must be paid to Mario in the
school office. More information about the test has been sent home with students.
COMMUNITY SERVICE REMINDER
All students in grades 9-12 are required to serve a minimum of 25 volunteer hours per year in a Community Service program.
Details of this program are explained in the school handbook. Students should be thinking about what activities they can be
involved in to complete the required hours. Students lacking hours from the previous year(s) were informed in writing with a
letter from Mr. Scoggan. If any student completed Community Service hours during the June-July break and would like to have
those hours counted towards this current academic year, you need to secure and fill out a form available from Mr. Scoggan.
INSURANCE NOTICE
We remind all families that they must have accident insurance for their children. If your children are part of your family health
policy, please present a copy of their insurance carnet to the office. If your children are not currently covered through a family or
company policy, the family may purchase insurance coverage at a reasonable cost through the school’s approved provider,
Alianza . Please call Mario in the office soon to sign up your children.

DAMOS LA BIENVENIDA A HEATHER PEROYEA
Carachipampa da la bienvenida a Heather Peroyea. La señora Peroyea nos ayudará como voluntaria en la enfermería. Ella estará
en el colegio los días martes y jueves por las tardes. Muchas gracias y sea bienvenida.
DIA DE COCHABAMBA
El primer feriado en nuestro calendario es lunes 14 de septiembre, Día de Cochabamba. Por lo que no habrá clases. Las clases se
reanudarán el día martes 15. Disfruten de este feriado y estén listos para retornar a clases.
22 DE SEPTIEMBRE DESARROLLO PROFESIONAL
El día martes 22 de septiembre tendremos clases hasta medio día. Por la tarde, el plantel docente tendrá un taller sobre Desarrollo
Profesional. Por favor tome nota de los siguientes cambios.
 Las clases terminarán a las 12:00, hora en la que los buses saldrán del colegio.
 Las clases de Pre kinder y kinder turno de la mañana serán normales, terminando a horas 11:15 am.
 No habrá clases para prekinder y kinder turno de la tarde.
 Tampoco habrá atención de parte del comedor.
DEPORTES
Ya comenzamos con nuestras actividades deportivas y pronto organizaremos los encuentros deportivos. Este semestre tendremos
equipos de fútbol varones y volley damas a cargo del señor Becerra y el señor Carreón (fútbol) y la señora Valera (volley).
Expresamos nuestros agradecimientos a los entrenadores por apoyarnos en esta actividad. Todo estudiante que participa en
actividades deportivas debe tomar en cuenta los siguientes requisitos:
 Firmar el Contrato Deportivo y el formulario de permiso por parte de sus padres. Dichos formularios ya fueron puestos a
disposición de los estudiantes y, una vez llenados, deben ser devueltos al señor Scoggan antes de participar en los
partidos.
 Cada participante debe contar con un seguro contra accidentes y remitir una copia de dicho seguro a la oficina del
colegio. Aquellos estudiantes que no cuenten con dicho seguro pueden obtenerlo a través del colegio por un valor de $us
14.
PALOOZA 2015: 13 DE NOVIEMBRE
La señorita Pinard y el Equipo EPIC ya están organizando las actividades para Palooza 2015. Esta noche de talentos tendrá lugar
el día viernes 13 de noviembre en el colegio. El tema de Palooza 2015 es Cuentos Medievales. Estén atentos a los detalles que
pronto daremos a conocer.
CURSO 11: TARJETAS POR EL DIA DE LA AMISTAD
A manera de recaudar fondos, la Promoción 2017 hará y venderá tarjetas para el Día de la Amistad que incluirá una rosa o un
chocolate. La venta de estas tarjetas será a partir de la próxima semana durante los recreos de la mañana y a la hora de almuerzo.
Precios: Tarjeta + una rosa = Bs. 5; Tarjeta + Chocolate = Bs. 3.5. Combo Especial: Tarjeta + Rosa + Chocolate = Bs. 8.
CONVENIO SOBRE EL USO DE COMPUTADORAS Y TECNOLOGIA
Carachipampa está comprometido en establecer un servicio de tecnología con propósitos educacionales y de instrucción segura
para todos nuestros estudiantes. Estamos conscientes del uso apropiado e inapropiado de estos recursos tecnológicos. Con el fin
de evitar el uso inapropiado de las computadoras, internet y otros recursos tecnológicos existentes en el colegio, solicitamos que
todos los estudiantes desde el 5to curso hasta el 12do y los padres de familia firmen el compromiso de Uso de Computadoras y
Tecnología. Este compromiso establece las directrices de CCS en cuanto a lo que los estudiantes pueden y no pueden acceder y
cómo pueden usar las computadoras y tecnología. Este documento ya fue distribuido a los estudiantes de los cursos 5to al 12do y
debe ser devuelto firmado hasta el miércoles 16 de septiembre.
LLEGADA Y RECOJO DE LOS ESTUDIANTES
Otra vez les recordamos a los padres de familia que solamente deben dejar y recoger a sus hijos del área entre la biblioteca
(Edificio Ruby Miller) y las oficinas. Por favor no acompañe a sus hijos hasta los cursos. De la misma manera, padre de familia
que, por cualquier motivo, tenga que recoger a su hijo antes de la finalización de clases debe esperar en la oficina. Algún
personero de CCS se encargará de llamar a su hijo.
UNIFORME DEL COLEGIO
Ya son cuatro de semanas de haber comenzado clases. Esperamos que todos los estudiantes asistan a clases con el uniforme
adecuado. Esto es uniforme de Educación Física y chompas. En caso de no estar con el uniforme, el estudiante necesita tener una
nota del padre de familia que explique la razón de no estar con uniforme.
ASUNTOS DEL MANUAL DEL ESTUDIANTE
 MEDICACION: Recordamos a las familias cuyos hijos tienen medicación, notificar a la Enfermería y dejar su medicamento
apenas se llegue a la escuela de manera que la enfermera pueda dárselos a la hora correspondiente. Ningún medicamento
debe permanecer en las mochilas o casilleros. Una nota o la receta, una vez firmada por el padre, debe ser enviada
señalando la dosis de la medicina y la hora que debe ser administrada.
 NIÑOS ENFERMOS: Los niños que estén enfermos o tengan fiebre no deben venir a la escuela. Es mejor que
permanezcan en sus casas hasta recuperarse. Si la enfermedad fuera varicela, paperas o tifoidea, los estudiantes deben
permanecer en sus casas por 5 días o hasta estar completamente recuperados.
 LOS ESTUDIANTES QUE SE INDISPONGAN deben ir a la Enfermería. Solamente la enfermera (ni los profesores ni el
estudiante) tiene la autorización de llamar a los padres para informarles y pedirles que vengan a recoger a su hijo/a
 CELULARES: Se permite el uso de celulares en el colegio, pero les recordamos que el cuidado de esos aparatos es de
responsabilidad del que trae. El uso de dichos aparatos se circunscribe a los horarios de recreos de la mañana y de almuerzo.
LAS PERSONAS QUE NOS VISITAN DEBEN PASAR PRIMERO POR SECRETARIA
Les recordamos que, con el propósito de mejorar la seguridad en nuestro establecimiento, toda persona que nos visite tiene que
obtener el Pase de Visitante del puesto del guardia de seguridad, luego registrarse en secretaría. En caso de que tenga que recoger
a su hijo, por favor espere en la oficina mientras un personero de CCS llama a su hijo.
ANUNCIO SOBRE LOS CAMPAMENTOS
Este es el primer anuncio sobre los campamentos.
Todos los estudiantes deben participar en su respectivo campamento. Ningún estudiante de secundaria será excusado de este
requerimiento. Los estudiantes del curso 9 al 12 tienen que tener los créditos de campamento para graduarse. La semana de
campamento será del 05 al 08 de octubre. El Campamento de Secundaria tendrá lugar en Kewiña de lunes a jueves. El
Campamento de los cursos 4 al 6 tendrá lugar en las Cabañas BJ, camino Reducto. El Campamento de kinder y los cursos 1 al 3
se realizará en el colegio. Más detalles les serán enviados por los Coordinadores en las próximas semanas.
EXAMENES PSAT
Los estudiantes de grados 10 y 11 este año podrán tomar el examen PSAT el miércoles 14 de octubre en el colegio. Este examen
es opcional. Los estudiantes deberán considerar tomar y prepararse para el examen PSAT. El costo del examen PSAT será Bs.
140 lo cual debe ser cancelado en la oficina de finanzas con Mario. Información adicional ya está en manos de los estudiantes.
RECORDATORIO: SERVICO COMUNITARIO
Todos los estudiantes de los grados 9 a 12 deberán cumplir un mínimo de 25 horas en un programa de servicio comunitario.
Detalles de este programa están explicados en el manual de estudiantes. Comiencen a pensar en qué actividades pueden estar
involucrados para completar las horas requeridas. Se informó por escrito a los estudiantes que deben horas del año pasado con
una carta del Sr. Scoggan. Si un estudiante hubiese cumplido algunas horas de servicio comunitario durante la vacación juniojulio y quisieran que se les reconozcan para este año académico, solicítelo a través del formulario disponible en la oficina de Sr.
Scoggan.
SEGURO
Recordamos a todas nuestras familias que sus hijos tienen que contar con algún seguro contra accidentes. Por favor enviar una
copia al colegio de dicho documento. En caso de no tener un seguro contra accidentes, usted puede adquirir dicho seguro por un
precio razonable en Alianza, proveedor de seguros aprobado por CCS. Por favor contactarse con Mario a fin de acceder a dicho
seguro.
