Call the Summer Scholars Coordinator at 402-554-2248 mca.unomaha.edu/summer.php SUMMER SCHOLARS PROGRAM PROGRAMA ESCOLAR DE VERANO OVERVIEW AND BENEFITS The Summer Scholars Program provides college-bound high school juniors from the greater Omaha metropolitan area with the opportunity to: • enroll in classes to earn college credit, • live on campus for one week and prepare for college life, and • meet new people, such as university faculty/staff and other students with similar interests. The goal of this program is to expose participants to the dynamics of a college campus environment through a five-week pre-college summer session Friday, May 29th – Friday, July 3, 2015. Students will experience and/or learn about: • college academic course work • faculty and staff interaction • time management • college admission and preparation • college scholarship and financial aid • career exploration • cooperative learning • community service and engagement and • social and cultural awareness. Then, the committee will select the preliminary finalist for an interview. Lastly, the committee will select finalists from the interviewed applicants. Interviews will take place March 9th-19th, Monday through Friday from 3:00-5:30pm.
