NOTES FROM THE OFFICE
JANUARY 4, 2016
THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY: We offer our heartfelt thanks to you for your participation in
the Giving Tree and food drive. Community spirit and neighborhood care is very evident this time of year.
Many families received much needed gifts of hope and joy in the form of food, clothing, and toys. We
also thank our NES PTA for their generous support of the Giving Tree program. Also, our staff also
wishes to thank students and parents for the gifts and treats they received. Thank you all so much.
REMINDER TO VOLUNTEERS: For the safety of our students, we require all volunteers and parents
attending field trips, volunteering or visiting in the classroom, or eating lunch with their child to complete
the volunteer application packet which includes the Washington State Patrol background check. Packets
are available in the school office.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS: The next session of After School Programs will be starting soon. The
Math Enrichment Program resumes next Monday, Jan. 11th with the same students as session 1. The
After School Reading Program will resume on Jan. 25th. If your student is invited to continue or begin,
you will be notified. Club de Lectura and Music Enrichment will resume Feb. 4th.

SCHOOL CLOSURE/DELAYS
If the weather conditions are severe enough to close
school, delay its starting time, or change bus routes, the
news will be aired by 6:45 a.m. on KGMI radio and web
page. If school begins late, students should arrive no more
than fifteen minutes before school starts. If no
announcement is made, school will be operating on the
normal schedule. You may need to continue to listen in
case the situation changes.
Please do not drop off students at the school if you are
unsure of the start time. If the weather is severe, please
make sure that school is actually open before leaving school
grounds.

RECORDATORIO PARA VOLUNTARIOS – Para la seguridad de nuestros alumnos, es un requisito
para todos los voluntarios y padres que van a las excursiones con las clases completar una solicitud
para ser voluntario. Esta solicitud incluye la verificación de antecedentes del Patrulla del Estado de
Washington. Las solicitudes están disponibles en la oficina.
PROGRAMAS DESPUES DE CLASES – La próxima sesión de programas después de clases empezara
pronto. La clase de Enriquecimiento de matemáticas empieza el lunes, enero 11 con los mismos
alumnos de sesión 1. La Clase de Lectura en ingles comienza el 25 de enero. Si su hijo/a esta invitado
continuar o empezar esta clase, les vamos a notificar. Club de Lectura y Enriquecimiento de música
comienza el jueves, 4 de febrero.

CUANDO LA ESCUELA CIERRA O EMPIEZA TARDE
Si las condiciones meteorológicas son lo
suficientemente graves como para cerrar la escuela,
retrasar su tiempo inicial, cambiar rutas de autobús, o
regresar temprano a los estudiantes, la noticia va a ser
emitida como a las 6:45 de la mañana en el canal
KGMI 790 AM de la radio. Si el anuncio no se emite,
la escuela funcionará en la programación normal. Es
posible que usted deba seguir escuchando la radio en el
caso de que la situación cambie. Si la escuela comienza
tarde, los estudiantes no deben llegar antes de quince
minutos de que inicien las clases.
Por favor no deje a sus estudiantes en la escuela si
usted no está seguro de la hora de inicio. Si el clima es
severo, por favor, asegúrese de que la escuela este
realmente abierta antes de irse de la misma.
