ONE BIG THANK
YOU!…
Last weekend the Girl
Scouts, along with
several family
members, under the
leadership of Kim
Crandall followed the
advice of Lady Byrd Johnson who said: Beautify
America, plant a tree, a shrub or a bush. So, we can
now delight in the beauty added to our parish
grounds in the center circle in front of the Parish
Hall. At their cost of money and “sweat equity”, in
the humidity and heat of the day they dug up the
grass, tilled the soil and
planted some beautiful
blooming plants around
the young yellowflowering Tababouia tree.
Many thanks to Kim, Dale,
Anabelle and all the
other Girl Scout family
members who labored and
created a space of beauty.

CONFIRMATION CLASS PARENT/STUDENT NEWS
A parent-candidate meeting will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 4:00pm. The meeting will be held
in the church. Both parent and student must attend together. You will have a chance to examine the program
materials and learn about the program’s components, including class sessions, service projects, retreat days,
and confirmation Mass rehearsal. The fee for our confirmation program is $50.00. Please arrive on time!
Confirmation is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for spiritual growth, so during this formation time other activities will have to go on the back burner. If your speech and actions show that this confirmation program is a
priority in your family life, your candidate will see it that way too.
We urge you to pray with your candidate on a regular basis. The entire parish will be praying for you and your
candidate during these months of formation. In particular, the pastoral staff and the volunteer leaders will be
asking Jesus to bless you and your candidate with all the gifts you need.
Remember both you and your child/children
must attend this meeting together.

THANK YOU!
I recently sent out a request
for someone to help with our
local public relations, such as
our brochures and newsletters. I had several people
step forward to volunteer! Thank you to everyone who responded. We still need volunteers to
help at Agape Food Bank and in our Family Empowerment Program as tax preparers. Agape
Food Bank is located in Lakeland. After training,
tax preparers can serve in Haines City, Lake
Wales, Winter Haven, Auburndale or Lakeland
during tax season, and work as many or few
hours as they like. We also need instructors for
our Lakeland Activity Center for seniors. For
