Tras su paso por Manila el pasado mes de septiembre, Cine
Europa continúa viajando por Filipinas para llegar hasta Baguio,
Iloilo, Cebú, Leyte, Tacloban, Davao, Zamboanga y Cagayán de
Oro.
Las películas españolas que participan este año son Con una
pistola en cada mano (Cesc Gay, 2012) y El lince perdido
(Manuel Sicilia y Raúl García, 2008). Esta última inaugurará el
festival en Davao el día 28 de octubre.
After its inauguration in Manila last September, Cine
Europa makes the rounds in the Philippines, visiting
Baguio, Iloilo, Cebu, Leyte, Tacloban, Davao, Zamboanga
and Cagayan de Oro.
This year the film festival is featuring the Spanish movies
A Gun in Each Hand (Cesc Gay, 2012) and The Missing
Lynx (Manuel Sicilia y Raúl García, 2008). The latter will
open the festival in Davao on October 28.
Con ocasión del Día de la Amistad Hispanofilipina
2014 celebrado el pasado 30 de junio, la Universidad de
Filipinas organiza el ciclo de conferencias “Exploraciones
y transformaciones: creando textos e identidades”, que
cuenta con la participación de la Embajada de España en
Filipinas. El profesor Luis Alonso Álvarez de la Universidad
de La Coruña viaja a Manila para participar en este
encuentro a través de la ponencia “La mirada del kastila:
los sistemas agrarios de las islas Filipinas, 1565-1610”.
En el marco de estas conferencias, el día 7 de octubre
también tendrá lugar la presentación del segundo volumen
del libro “El Galeón de Manila. Cruzando el Atlántico”, en
cuya publicación ha participado la Embajada de España en
Filipinas.
On the occasion of the Philippine-Spanish Friendship
Day, celebrated last June 30, the University of the
Philippines presents the lecture series “Explorations and
Transformations: Creating Texts and Identity” with the
collaboration of the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines.
Professor Luis Alonso Álvarez from the University of La
Coruña will join this event with a lecture entitled “Through
the eyes of a kastila: Agrarian Systems in the Philippines,
1565-1610”.
Part of this lecture series will be the launching on
October 7 the second volume of the book “The Manila
Galleon. Crossing the Atlantic”, whose publication has
been made possible by the Embassy of Spain in the
Philippines.

Since its conception in 2002 by Instituto Cervantes de
Manila, the Film Festival Pelíkula has grown through
the years to become the most important showcase
of Spanish Cinema in the Southeast Asian region.
Pelíkula starts its new edition with a collection of
quality movies, many of which have received awards in
prestigious festivals. Finally, to cap off our line-up are
the midnight screenings, always a must-see in every
edition of Pelíkula. Enjoy the Festival!

Isabel Bayón, Premio Nacional de Danza 2013, llega a Manila
con su compañía flamenca para ofrecernos Caprichos del
tiempo, una obra que reflexiona sobre el tiempo y cómo
éste influye en lo que hacemos. En esta actuación, la artista
investiga, se debate y no olvida a los maestros, creando
nuevos caminos, mirando hacia delante, sin olvidar lo dejado
atrás.
Accompanied by two guitarists, two singers and one
percussionist, the dancer and choreographer from
Seville will perform for the first time in the Philippines,
the last leg of her tour of Asia. This event is organized
by the Embassy of Spain with the collaboration of
Meralco Foundation and Holiday Inn Manila Galleria.

Ecotech Center, Cebu
El Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte en colaboración
con la Embajada de España en Filipinas, el Departamento
de Educación de Filipinas y De La Salle University – Saint
Benilde, organiza cinco cursos de actualización didáctica para
profesores de español de instituciones públicas filipinas.
El curso será impartido por cinco profesores de la Universidad
Internacional Menéndez Pelayo. Tres de los cursos se
celebrarán en De La Salle University-Saint Benilde (Manila)
y dos en el Ecotech Center de Cebú. A ellos asistirán 125
profesores filipinos.
The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports,
in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in the
Philippines, the Department of Education of the
Philippines and De La Salle University-Saint Benilde,
organizes five training courses for Spanish language
teachers working in Philippine public institutions.
The course will be given by five teachers from the
Ménendez Pelayo International University (Spain). Three
of these courses will be held at the De La Salle University
– Saint Benilde (Manila) and two courses at the Ecotech
Center of Cebu. A total of 125 Filipino professors are
expected to attend it.

En dicha feria participan
este año cinco universidades
españolas: el Instituto de
Empresa - IE, la Universidad de
Alcalá, la Universidad de Oviedo, la Universidad Católica de
Murcia y la Universidad de Málaga. El Embajador de España
Luis Calvo Castaño asistirá junto con otras autoridades
diplomáticas a un encuentro con periodistas y representantes
de las universidades participantes. Seguidamente, tendrá lugar
la inauguración de la feria, quedando abierta al público hasta
las 6 p.m.
The European Higher Education Fair, organized by the
European Union Delegation in the Philippines and its
member states, is particularly devoted to post-graduate
studies offered by different European universities.
The Spanish institutions joining the fair this year include
Instituto de Empresa - IE, the University of Alcalá, the
University of Oviedo, the Catholic University of Murcia
and the University of Malaga. Spanish Ambassador
Luis Calvo Castaño, along with other members of the
diplomatic corps, will meet with members of the media
and representatives of the participating universities. After
which, the Fair will be inaugurated and open to the public
unitl 6 p.m.

La Embajada de España en Filipinas junto con la Agencia
Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID)
a través de su programa ACERCA, organiza este seminario sobre
organización, restauración y conservación de fondos fílmicos que
será impartido por expertos españoles en la materia y está dirigido
a profesionales del Film Development Council of the Philippines.
Dados los esfuerzos que el FDCP está llevando a cabo para la
puesta en valor del patrimonio fílmico filipino y el apoyo que la
cooperación española quiere dar a esta misión, el seminario
tratará por una parte, sobre cómo se organiza y estructura una
filmoteca nacional, y por otro lado, desde el punto de vista
técnico y de capacitación, ofrecerá una formación a los asistentes
en materia de técnicas de restauración y conservación.
The Embassy of Spain in the Philippines and the Spanish
Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID),
through its ACERCA programme, organize this seminar on the
organization, restoration and conservation of film archives.
The talks will be given by Spanish experts in this discipline
and is intended for professionals of the Film Development
Council of the Philippines.
Made possible by efforts of the FDCP to enhance Philippine
film heritage with the support of Spanish aid, the seminar
is focused on how to organize and structure a national film
archive on the one hand and on the other hand, from a
technical and practical point of view, it will train the attendees
in restoration and conservation techniques.

sociología. Este ciclo pone de relieve cómo la estructura familiar ha
ido cambiando en la sociedad española a lo largo de las últimas
décadas y cómo su actual acepción queda reflejada en un mosaico
de voces y experiencias.
The family and its different forms and attributes: the group
and the individual, the complexity of personal relationships
and its sociology. This film series highlights how the family
structure in Spanish society has evolved in the course of the
past few decades and how its acceptance is reflected in a
mosaic of voices and experiences.
