As I write this column, it has been nearly
five years to the day since my mother was
rushed to the hospital from her apartment in
Central Florida. The EMTs did a wonderful job of
attending to her, and the doctors did all that they
could, but there was no recovering from a burst
anyeurism. Mom passed away two days later.
What I did notice was that it took many
hours from the time that Mom was first
picked up until our family was notified of her
predicament. By the time we were able to get
to her side - she had slipped into a coma that she
never came out of. In her last hours of distress she was all alone.
Not long after her passing, I came across
an article in USA Today that discussed the very
difficult job first responders have in notifying
next-of-kin of accident victims. Among the many
stories of heartache (Moms not being able to say
goodbye to their children, for example), this
quote jumped off the page at me:

find someone (next-of-kin) “

Having just gone through this very issue, I
could definitely relate! It was about this time
that my daughter was working late hours and
driving home well after midnight. I would “sleep”
restlessly until I heard her car pull up. I always
wondered how I could be certain that I would be
the one called if she was in trouble. Or, would I
wake to find out about it on Facebook? There had
to be a way....
Many of you are familiar with the ICE Keytag,

Changes and Updates!
We are always looking for ways to make the critical
service that the ICE Medical Card provides even better
and more effective. That’s why we were pleased to
release these changes after some extensive
reprogramming of our system.
- Fully mobile optimized display. When you (or First
Responders) go to yourice.info with their mobile phone or
tablet, they get a perfectly sized entry portal to enter the
account # and PIN. Entry is now done with telephone
buttons, rather than the small numbers from the text
menu!
- All telephone numbers that are retrieved are one touch
active. This means that when pulled by a First Responder,
all they have to do is touch the # in the display and a call
will be made to the next of kin. Time is of the essence,
and with this new system, an EMT or law enforcement officer familiar with our card can pull critical care info and
be calling next of kin in less than 30 seconds!
Partner Spotlight - Priority ER
You have probably seen them popping up all around - Standalone Emergency Rooms and
Clinics. They seem to be everywhere. That’s particularly true in the North Houston suburb
of The Woodlands. It’s home to one of the most competitive environments for these
facilities. One company, “Priority ER” has found a great way to make themselves stand
out and build customer loyalty. They have become an ICE Medical Card partner.
The specially designed ICE Medical Card for their two locations is branded with their logo,
and the sales piece also has their website information on it. The staff sells the cards to

ICE Medical Card Wins National Entrepreneurs Competition!
It was an exciting Summer for ICE Medical Cards, its fans and customers! Our President, Tom Force, represented ICE in several national radio
competitions leading up to a $20,000 winner take all challenge! Thousands of voters from around the country awarded the IMC the grand prize!
- July 15, 2014. Tom and ICE Medical Cards are the featured guest on “My Cool
Inventions” - a Nationally Syndicated Radio show. After explaining the history behind
its creation and how it works, the audience votes on whether they like the product
or not. ICE Medical Cards received a RARE 100% “Thumbs Up”. His scores wins the
weekly competition against other presenters and moves him along to the next round.
- August 1, 2014. Tom presents the ICE Medical Card in competition against two other
weekly winners on the “Dream Big America” nationally syndicated radio show. Voting
takes place for a week after the show ends. Although the competition is fierce, ICE
Medical Cards wins, in what the show producers says was a vote that “wasn’t even
close”!
- August 22, 2014. The Finals. Tom is now up against two other entrepreneurs who won weekly votes on Dream Big America. They have won their previous
two rounds as well. The format is the same - Tom had two minutes to pitch the ICE Medical Card to the national audience. When the dust settled, and due in
large part to our fans and customers around the world who took a moment to vote - we won the Grand Prize - a $20,000 Marketing Package! Thanks again to
all who pushed us over the top in this prestigeous competition!

If you are in an accident and can’t speak on your own behalf, First Responders will
find your ICE Medical Card in your wallet/purse while looking for your ID, and will
see the keytag on the keys as they take them out of the ignition.

a network or the Internet, they can access our emergency data retrieval page. They
