The four distinguishing characteristics of the
Catholic Church which we declare to be the one true
Church founded by Jesus Christ. The marks are:
One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic. One - consists in
the members professing the same Faith in communion
with the Pope; the faith may be expressed through
various ways of worship, but the faith is one. Holy consists in the sanctity of the members which flows
from the holiness of Jesus Christ. Catholic - consists
in the universality of the Church whereby all persons
are called to be members. Apostolic - consists in the
Church being founded by Jesus Christ through the
Apostles and being true to their spirit of fidelity to
Christ. These marks have been a part of our
Tradition since the very early church and are
professed in the “Nicene Creed” every Sunday at
Mass.

A Note from the Administrator...
Dear friends,
A great wealth of our parish is the variety of cultures and religious devotions here. If you’re Mexican, you celebrate our
Lady of Guadalupe and Posadas before Christmas. If you’re
Filipino, you have a special feeling for Simbang Gabi. And
the Portuguese … love the Holy Spirit and Our Lady of
Fatima.
Next Sunday our Portuguese community is hosting fellow
countrymen from this whole area in a special celebration of the
Holy Spirit. In past years we have had difficulty accommodating them --- sometimes they’ve even had to have Mass in the
Portuguese hall (two blocks from here).
But this year we think we’ve found a good way to
accommodate everyone.
Our regular St. Margaret Mary Sunday Mass at 11 (in English) … will be celebrated in the Parish Hall. And the special Portuguese language Mass --- with procession and special blessings --- will be in the church at 11:15. Those who
prefer Mass in English should go to the hall. Those who want
to experience Mass in a different language and culture are
warmly invited to the church.
It will be the same Christ leading and blessing us at both
Masses … but this way there’s room for everybody and we
won’t be tripping over each others’ feet.
Peace, All Good!
Fr. Mike
Estimados amigos;
la misa especial en portugués será a las 11:15AM en la iglesia;
¡Paz y bien!
Padre Mike

St. Margaret Mary
Singing should always be a joyous activity. The “Ministry of
Choir” is one means by which joy is expressed through singing. When singing during celebration of the Mass, we are reminded of the saying, by St. Francis of Assisi, “One who
sings… prays twice.”
The members of each choir at St. Margaret Mary Church seek
to celebrate the liturgy in a manner that promotes participation
by all with joy and reverence.
The mission of St Margaret Mary Catholic Church choirs is to
enrich, inspire, motivate, and engage the community in hymns
and sacred songs in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and
other liturgical celebrations.
The 11:00 AM Choir is presently recruiting for Choir
Members – Vocalists and Musicians. If you have a passion
for singing and/or playing an instrument and you feel that you
are being called to share your gifts with the congregation of St.
Margaret Mary Catholic Church…

St. Margaret Mary Women’s Fellowship invites all adult
women to join us for this fall’s bible study Jesus Changes
Women by Helene Ashker
There are many different kinds of Christians – some are vibrant and growing, others are barely surviving. The good
news is that God desires growth for all of His children and
has provided everything we need to grow in Him. Jesus
Changes Women examines the various elements of spiritual
growth and helps women discover how to grow strong in
their faith. By looking at the lives of biblical women like
Deborah, Mary, Hannah, and others you’ll learn to: root
yourself in God’s love, center your life on Christ, nourish
your faith with Scripture, enjoy fellowship and much more.
If you want your faith to grow and blossom, this Bible study
will help you learn what it means to become more like Jesus
in today’s world.
Registration will take place after all Masses, September 5th &
6th. We will begin 6:30 pm, Thursday, September 17 in the
McGinn-Johnson Parish hall. The fee is $15 and covers the
cost of your book and materials you will receive during the
study. You do not need to be a member of St. Margaret Mary
Church to participate.
If you have any questions or need more information please
feel free to contact Genevieve Crean at 909-627-6992 or
Teresa Farr at 909-627-6054.

Youth Nights
You might have noticed that there is a lot of
work going on in our newly named teen center, now the “Sacred Heart Center.” As a result, our youth leadership team will be taking
several of the upcoming Sundays off of ministry work to spruce up the newly assigned
youth room. I think the teens of our parish
will love it, especially since many of them are
helping with the work. And if you would like
to help we are looking for a few fun things to
add to the room.
