Our Lady of the Hills Roman Catholic Church is inspired by the Holy Spirit and formed by the
Gospel, under the patronage of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Our mission is to preach and teach the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. As one family under God, the Father, we welcome all who come to us and
are particularly mindful of those in need.
Welcome ~ We welcome all newcomers to our parish family and request that you see an Usher
after mass for a registration packet or call the Parish Office. Please stop by the Hospitality Table
after Mass if you have any questions concerning the Parish.
Sacramental Information
Baptism - You must call the parish office to register for a Baptism Class. This must be done one
month prior to the scheduled class. Call the Parish Office for more information.
Marriage - You must contact the Parish Office at least six months prior to wedding.
Anointing of the Sick
if you find yourself or a loved one as a patient in a hospital and are in need of the Sacrament of the
Anointing of the Sick, please call the office during business hours as soon as possible. Please do not
wait until your loved one is in critical condition. There can be unavoidable delays in a priest getting
to the hospital immediately. Also, if you plan on entering the hospital for a particular procedure,
you may receive the Sacrament of the Anointing, prior to admission, by making contact with the
parish office.

My Dear Parishioners,
Queridos Feligreses,
As we begin the “merry month of May,” perhaps we could
also call it the “Mary month of May.” May, as October, is
a month dedicated to the Blessed Mother, Mary. This
week everyone is invited the children will have their May
Crowning ceremony on Wednesday, May 4th at 6:30 PM.
On Monday, May 9th our parish will welcome the
International Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima with a
procession at 5:30 PM followed by the rosary in English
and the Mass of the Blessed Mother Mary. After Mass
there will be a talk by one of the custodians of the statue
followed by the rosary in Spanish at 8:15 pm and a
bilingual Evening Prayer of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 9:30
pm to conclude the visit of the traveling image of Our
Lady of Fatima.
Empezaremos a
This month of May could also be a time for you to reflect
on and learn more about the important role that Mary
played in God’s plan of salvation. On FORMED.ORG with
our parish access code: 4DB6ZH, we have access to a
number of resources on the Blessed Virgin Mary. The
most impressive of the resources is the St. Paul Center’s
12 session study of THE BIBLE AND THE VIRGIN MARY. It
is a way for Catholics and non-Catholics to grow in their
understanding of Mary and why we honor her and call her
our mother. Also on FORMED.ORG there are many other
Marian resources as part of different programs. You could
watch Catholicism, Episode 4: Our Tainted Nature’s
Solitary Boast: Mary, the Mother of God; Footprints of
God—Mary. You can listen to a conference, Praying the
Rosary Like Never Before— by Dr. Edward Sri (audio).
There is also Symbolon, Part I, Episode 9: Mary and the
Saints: Our Spiritual Mother and the Communion of
Saints. The YDisciple series has a number of Discipleship
Activities that relate to Mary such as Total Consecration,
Praying the Rosary, and a Rosary Hike that could be done
with your children.
Paul Center’s 12 THE BIBLE AND THE VIRGIN MARY (La Biblia
Parte I, Sesión 9: María y los Santos.
familia.
Our devotion to Mary proceeds, as we are reminded by
the Vatican Council II, “from true faith, by which we are
led to know the excellence of the Mother of God, and we
are moved to a filial love toward our mother and to the
imitation of her virtues.” May we use this month of May
to honor in a special way, Mary, the mother of Jesus and
our mother
In the Redeemer,
video: Mary, Praying the Rosary Like Never Before—una
plática en audio por Dr. Edward Sri, YDisciple, Discipleship
Activities : Total Consecration; Praying the Rosary; y Rosary
Hike.

* * * BLOOD DRIVE RESULTS * * *
The Knights of Columbus would like to Thank Everyone
who supported the recent Parish Blood Drive & Pancake
Breakfast this past Sunday April 24. Forty-six (46) Donors
contributed blood and the Breakfast was well attended
with great comradery.
Again, thank you for donating. This Blood Drive brought
the total Donations to 2143 Pints since the start of the
Blood Drives in August 2003. Congratulations OLH Parish.
Mark your calendars; the next Blood Drive is Sunday,
October 16, 2016.
Both Pope Francis and
Pope Benedict have
encouraged all Catholics to
seek to be “baptized in the
Holy Spirit”. On May 11, 2008
before praying the Regina
Caeli with thousands of
people gathered in St. Peter's
Square, Pope Benedict made
this statement: "Today I
would like to extend this
invitation to everyone, let us rediscover, dear brothers and
sisters, the beauty of being baptized in the Holy Spirit.”
Pope Francis in his address to a group of 53,000 gathered in
Rome in 2014 made this request of those involved in the
charismatic renewal: “ I expect from you that you share with
all, in the Church, the grace of Baptism in the Holy Spirit”.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic bishops in 1997 encouraged
““the whole Church to look into and embrace baptism in the
Holy Spirit” as “part of the normal Christian life”.
On May 10, in the church, at the regular Joy in the Spirit
prayer time of 7pm, an information session will be presented
on the subject of the “baptism in the Holy Spirit”. What is
it? How do I embrace it? What can it mean for my life? Is it
meant for everyone? Please join us for a brief time of prayer
and praise along with this informative presentation on this
very important subject.
Please call John Killilea at 803-201-7900 or email
[email protected] for more information.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR MONDAY, MAY 9, 2016, the day after Mother’s Day, to hear the important Messages of
Our Lord and Our Lady given at Fatima, for the whole world.
“Jesus wishes to establish devotion to my Immaculate Heart…In the end my Immaculate Heart will Triumph.” – Our Lady of
Fatima - 1917
Fatima Prayers
O My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love Thee! I beg pardon for all
those that do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love
Thee.
Most Holy Trinity, I adore you! My God, my God, I love you in the
Most Blessed Sacrament.
Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee
profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity
of Jesus Christ present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation
for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He is offended.
By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate
Heart of Mary I beg the conversion of poor sinners.
O Jesus, it is for the love of You, for the conversion of sinners, and in
reparation for the offences committed against the Immaculate Heart of
Mary, and for the conversion of poor sinners.(To be said when offering
up personal sacrifices, penances, sufferings, etc.)
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all
souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy. Amen. (To
be said after the Glory Be to the Father following each decade of the
Rosary.)
“Jesus wishes to establish devotion to my Immaculate Heart……In the end my
Immaculate Heart will Triumph”
- Our Lady of Fatima – 1917.

One of the simplest ways to make a future gift to
Our Lady of the Hills is through your will. Please call the Parish Office for details on how to make arrangements.
Dear Parishioners of OLOH,
With the idea of making it easier and more convenient to
contribute to our Church the parish Finance Council has
arranged to set up E-giving for those who may be interested.
You may access the form from our website by clicking on Egiving on the homepage. If you have questions please
contact Marianne at 772-7400 or [email protected].
Thank you.
Next week’s second collection is the annual Mother’s
Day collection for Catholic Charities. Please be
generous in helping Catholic Charities be the loving
hand of Christ extended to the poor and suffering.
