''Today's students are preparing to enter a world in which colleges and businesses are demanding more than ever before. To ensure all students are
ready for success after high school, the Common Core State Standards establish clear, consistent guidelines for what every student should know and be
able to do in math and English language arts from kindergarten through 12th grade.'' - Common Core State Standards Initiative
MDUSD's 2014-2015 Report of Student Progress was developed to reflect our current understanding and implementation of the CCSS. It is our intent to
revisit and revise this document as our knowledge and experience with the standards grows.
New Report Card Features:
21st Century Skills
These skills were adapted from the Partnership for 21st Century Skills to help prepare students to successfully face the rigors of higher education
coursework, career challenges and a globally competitive workforce. Mastery of these skills will prepare students to succeed as effective citizens,
workers and leaders in the 21st century.
Math Practices
The Standards for Mathematical Practice identify overarching math habits. They define characteristics and behaviors exhibited by mathematically
proficient students.
The scoring system for both 21st Century Skills and Math Practice Standards is: ''Satisfactory'' (indicating the student has been observed demonstrating
this skill); or ''Needs Improvement'' (indicating the student has not been observed demonstrating this skill).
Trimester Goals
Each trimester, every student will be provided with individual goals that identify specific standards as areas of focus. Whether a student needs extra
support or whether he/she is already achieving at high levels, these goals are intended to highlight important areas of instruction and learning for the
upcoming trimester. Your student should receive between two to four goals each trimester.

Para asegurar que todos los estudiantes estén listos para tener éxito después de terminar high school, los estándares comunes establecen pautas
claras y consistentes sobre lo que cada estudiante debe de saber y ser capaz de hacer en matemática e inglés de kindergarten a 12avo grado'' Common Core State Standards Initiative
El Reporte de Progreso del Estudiante de MDUSD's 2014-2015 fue desarrollado para reflejar nuestro entendimiento actual sobre la implementación de
los CCSS. Es nuestra intención el revisitar y revisar este documento a medida que nuestro conocimiento y experiencia con los Estándares comunes de
California se incremente
Nuevas características del Reporte de Progreso:
Habilidades del siglo XXI
Estas habilidades fueron adaptadas de la Asociación para Habilidades del Siglo 21 para ayudar a preparar a los estudiantes para afrontar con éxito los
rigores de los cursos de educación superior, los desafíos de la carrera y una fuerza laboral competitiva a nivel mundial. El dominio de estas habilidades
preparará a los estudiantes para tener éxito como ciudadanos efectivos, trabajadores y líderes en el siglo 21.
Prácticas de Matemática
Los Estándares para la Práctica de Matemática identifican hábitos de matemáticas generales. Definen las características y los comportamientos
exhibidos por los estudiantes matemáticamente competentes.
El sistema de puntuación para ambos Habilidades del Siglo 21 y las Normas de Práctica de Matemáticas es: "Satisfactorio" (que indica que se ha
observado que el estudiante demuestre esta habilidad); o "Necesita Mejorar" (que indica que no se ha observado que el estudiante demuestre esta
habilidad)
Objetivos Trimestrales
En cada trimestre, cada estudiante tendrá objetivos específicos que identifiquen los estándares en los cuales se enfoca la enseñanza. Ya sea que un
estudiante necesite apoyo adicional ó que el/ella esté trabajando a un nivel alto, estos objetivos resaltan las áreas de instrucción y aprendizaje más
importantes para el siguiente trimester. Su estudiante recibirá de dos a cuatro objetivos cada trimestre
