Into this pattern we bring our belief in God's triumph over death in the resurrection of Christ. For those who follow Christ, death can become a friend, not a foe. And yet, despite our faith, we still mourn those who have died. Perhaps this is only natural, since they have passed from our sight and we no longer relate to them as we once did. In the Gospel reading Jesus does not tell mourners to stop mourning immediately, rather, he promises that they shall one day be comforted. Yet while we mourn, we do not mourn as those without hope. On this day we celebrate the fact that we are still united with the dead within the embrace of God's love. 7:00 pm Recuperación Salud Alex Zangen & Daniela Díaz (Taken from Living the Word) Sun/Dom, November 2 9:00 am Tarsicio Morales Mon/Lun, November 3 8:00 am Novena for the Faithful Departed Tue/Mar, November 4 8:00 am Novena for the Faithful Departed 7:00 pm Novena por los Fieles Difuntos Wed/Mier, November 5 8:00 am Novena for the Faithful Departed Thu/Jue, November 6 8:00 am Novena for the Faithful Departed 7:00 pm Novena por los Fieles Difuntos Fri/Vier, November 7 8:00 am Novena for the Faithful Departed Conmemoración de los Fieles Difuntos (Ciclo A) Rincón del Párroco Creemos que Dios ha creado todas las cosas, aunque éstas tengan que morir. General Audience, October 15, 2014 John, taking up the intuition of the prophets in the Book of Revelation, describes the final, definitive dimension in terms of the “new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband” (Rv 21:2). That is what awaits us! This, then, is who the Church is: she is the People of God who follows the Lord Jesus and who prepares herself day by day for the meeting with Him, as a bride with her bridegroom. And this is not just an expression: there will be actual nuptials! Yes, because Christ, by becoming a man like us and making us all one with him, with his death and his Resurrection, truly wedded us and constituted us, as a people, his bride. This is none other than the fulfilment of the plan of communion and of love woven by God throughout history, the history of the People of God and also the very history of each one of us. It is the Lord who is in the lead. Próximo retiro 6 y 7 de diciembre Page 8 BOOK NOOK Recommendation for this week: Praying to Our Lord Jesus Christ, Fr. Benedict J.
