Foot Washing
Holy Thursday is the night that Jesus abolished the roles
of master and servant, superior and inferior, powerful and
powerless, male and female. We want to invite all of you
who attend to participate in this gesture of serving others
by having your feet washed and washing another’s feet.
This is optional, however if you want to participate
please remove one shoe prior to the foot washing ritual.

Words of Wisdom:
“Looking back, I am filled with gratitude; looking forward,
I am filled with hope; looking upward, I am aware of
strength; looking inward, I find peace.”
We hope this year in Lent you have had the time to reflect, to
pray and to listen to the silence of God. Sometimes this is best
enjoyed as we marvel at the wonder of nature. The setting sun,
the gentle waves and even the stormy skies are all a part of our
journey through life. There is hope in the knowledge that we can
find peace.
As we approach the Easter Season we have wonderful books,
bibles and prayer books as well as books of spirituality. Our
selection of Children’s books is extensive and as always there are
many new additions for the upcoming Communion season.
We hope you will take the time to come in and browse, sit a while
and read, or listen to the music. Our staff is knowledgeable and
friendly – eager to help you or just share a little fellowship.
We are here to serve you 7 days a week, from 9-5PM. You may
also visit us online at www.missionsanluisobispo.org – click on
the Gift Shop for a secure shopping experience.

Happy Palm Sunday.
We meet for faith formation today.
We are close to the end of our
Lenten journey. As we enter into
Holy Week you might try to find
some extra time for prayer. The 3
minute retreat at loyolapress.com
is an easy way to enjoy some extra
prayer – while waiting to pick up
your child or on a break at work.
Also hope you will be able to join
the community for the Triduum
events – Holy Thursday, Good
Friday service or stations of the
cross and either the Easter vigil on
Saturday night (to witness the 9
in our community who are being
baptized) or Easter Sunday masses.

EFLECTION OF THE WEEK
March 29, 2015 • Palm Sunday
of the Passion of The Lord
The Passion reading in Mark’s gospel
is the shortest of all gospel accounts
and is known for its swift impact and
drama. It begins with an unnamed
woman pouring expensive perfume
on Jesus’ head and continues through
the Last Supper, Jesus and his
disciples praying in Gethsemane, the
arrest of Jesus, his trial, crucifixion,
death and burial. Of course the
disciples scattered and made no
claim to Jesus. He was left alone to
die a degrading death. Some women
stood and watched at a distance and
a Jewish man, Joseph of Arimathea,
gave him a tomb.
Reflection question:
Adult: When have I found it hard to
accept God’s will? What helped me
to accept God’s will?
Child: When is it hard to obey?
And why?
Reflection and questions from RCL Benziger.

E
camino.
jubileo, estoy invitando a nuestra comunidad parroquial
discípulos aún no comprenden.

Viernes Santo - Viacrucis Viviente y
Bendiciones,
