RECEIVE AND PASS IT ON
Should you find it hard to get to sleep tonight, just remember the homeless family who has no bed to lie in.
Should you find yourself stuck in traffic, don’t be angry. There are people in this world for whom driving is an
unheard-of privilege. Should you have a bad day at work, think of the man who has been out of work for the last
year. Should you despair over a relationship gone wrong, think of the person who has never known what it’s
like to love and be loved. Should you grieve the passing of another vacation, think of the woman in dire straits,
working twelve hours a day, seven days a week, to feed her family. Should you run out of gas, think of the
paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk to the service station. Should you notice a new
gray hair in the mirror, think of the cancer patient in chemotherapy who wishes she had hair to examine. Should you find yourself at
a loss and pondering “What is my purpose in life?” be thankful. There are those who didn’t live long enough to get that opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim of other people’s bitterness, ignorance, smallness, or insecurities, remember, this also happened
to Jesus. Today may there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget
the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing,
dance, and bask in the sun. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May
you accept that you are a child of God.

Stephen Ministry
“”Like a Shepherd I
will feed you; I will gather you with care.
I will lead you and hold you close to my
heart. We will run and not grow weary,
for our God will be our Strength, and we
will fly like the eagle, we will rise again”
Hymn “We Will Rise Again”
One of the ways we might instill hope for our care
receivers, and work on a more intimate relationship
with Jesus is to read and meditate on a hymn, psalm,
or scripture passage taking time to savor each idea
separately, thanking God for being our Shepherd who
feeds us (His Body), for leading and loving us (holding
us close to His heart), asking Him for His strength.
Imagine what it would be like to “fly like an
eagle.” (Our resurrection possibly), and remembering
that after death we will rise again in Christ. Further
statements found in the Catechism of the Catholic
Church, copyright 1994, will help us better understand
Christ’s Resurrection and ours. “By His death, Christ
liberated us from sin, by His Resurrection He opens
for us the way to a new life. This new life is above all
justification that reinstates us to God’s grace, “so that
as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the
Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”
Justification consists of both victory over the death
caused by sin, and a new participation in grace.” #654

Quinto Domingo de Cuaresma
22 de marzo del 2015 3
AGRADECE Y DIFUNDE
