Needs Volunteers
on March 21st!
Please join us on Saturday, March 21 from 8:00am to Noon. We meet at the
warehouse/distribution center located at 1201 E Maryland St., Indpls., 46202. There are many things you
can do at the distribution center to help serve struggling families. Help is always appreciated on the loading docks where we “fill an order” for various pieces of
furniture into someone’s vehicle. There is also the opportunity to assist patrons shopping for clothing for
themselves & family members. If you are a first time
volunteer (welcome!); there will be “veteran StVdP
volunteers” to show you how and what to do at the
warehouse. Call Larry Heil at 657-7093 if you have

This weekend we are viewing a special video for the
National Catholic Youth Conference that will be held in
Indianapolis this Fall. For three days, 25,000 Catholic
teenagers will gather to sing, praise, laugh, exchange hugs
and celebrate the sacraments. Throughout the days, as
many as 20 priests will be hearing confessions to teenagers who wait in line to seek God’s forgiveness. I would
encourage any Catholic teenager, whether strong in their
faith or not, to attend this conference. Check the bulletin
for information or attend the information meeting at 4:30
this Sunday, March 8th.
I am pleased to announce that the Good Friday Stations
of the Cross will be presented outside with “live” actors.
The Stations will conclude in church for veneration of the
cross. We invite you to either
attend the 3:00 Good Friday
Service or 7:00 Living Stations
(bi-lingual).
This week, we will be
having four people attend a
special workshop to promote
vocations within our parish. We have a very good parish,
but it has been 20 years since one of our members has
been ordained to the priesthood (Deacon Mike was ordained to the diaconate three years ago). I am not sure
when we have had someone enter religious life. If anyone
is interested in joining this new ministry, let me know
([email protected]).
The next trip to Honduras is filling up quickly. Because
of the airline tickets increasing, we have to know who is
going by March 15th. Please contact Kathy Evans if you
have any interest in joining us this June at:
([email protected]).

CUARESMA 2015
LIMOSNA

Planning & Scheduling Your Events
at Holy Spirit Church and School —
New Information!
To service our programs in a more organized
manner, all events will have to be approved
before any communications are sent out to
advertise the activity. An event planning sheet has been
developed by Fr. Paul and the rest of the staff. It is a
wonderful thing to have a thriving parish community but
we want to make sure that your event space is actually
available and that the appropriate individuals have been
notified.
It is very important, not only to schedule your event with
Angela, in the school office, or Quenia in the parish
office, but also to begin filling-out the Event Planning
sheet that will accompany your Event. ***Event planning
sheets are available in the parish office and on our Holy
Spirit website: www.holyspirit-indy.org
If you need to use the kitchen, then Jill Baker, the kitchen
manager should be consulted, by you, prior to your event.
Jill needs to go over the refrigeration situation and provide
kitchen safety training to help your event be the most productive & cost effective! *This process should be planned
well in advance of your event!
THE FOLLOWING NEW PROCEDURE
IS FOR EVERY TYPE OF EVENT:
1. Schedule event in the Parish/School software
through Quenia Rodriguez, Parish Office or Angela
Hurst, School Office.
2. Fill out an Event Planning Form and then obtain the
appropriate approval. Contact the Parish or School
Office for this form if you don’t have one.
The Event Planning Form must be filled out & approved
by one of the following individuals prior to your event:
Fr. Paul Koetter; Rita Parsons; Suzanne McLaughlin;
or Kathy Peacock. Allow several days for approval, as all
events may be discussed at staff meetings to ensure
there are no conflicts.
Please do not advertise an event or schedule it in the
bulletin, send out emails or flyers until it has been approved by one of the individuals listed above. If the event
involves money, reimbursements or check requests,
please see the Business Office for cash handling
guidelines.
If you should have any questions about whether or not
your event is included in the Event planning as outlined
above, please call or email Kathy or Suzy at the business
office and we will be happy to answer all of your questions and help you through this process!
Examples of events that need an Event Planning Form
include but are not limited to: Pizza Sales, Fundraising
Breakfasts, Jeans Days, CYO Coaches Appreciation
Parties, Bible Studies, Retreats, Holy Day celebrations,
Stations of the Cross or other Holy Day celebrations, Car
Washes, Quinceaneras, & Weddings. Thank you for your
cooperation!
