Jesús se mueve del espacio “sagrado” de la sinagoga, donde quebrantó el sábado con una cura espiritual, hasta un espacio “secular”, la casa de Simón, y sigue rompiendo límites. Aunque todavía es sábado Jesús se acerca a una mujer “tomándola de la mano”; una mujer que no era de su familia sanguínea, quizás hasta ritualmente impura debido a la enfermedad. Los límites se rompen y la fiebre salió del cuerpo de la mujer igual que el espíritu inmundo “salió” del alma afligida del hombre. • Levantada para servir. Jesús “levantó” a la suegra de Pedro. Una vez levantada, la suegra de Simón “se puso a servirlos”. También Jesús usa la palabra “servir” para describirse a sí mismo: “El Hijo del hombre no ha venido a que lo sirvan, sino a servir”. También la palabra diaconado, que viene del griego “servir”, se refiere al ministerio ordenado de la palabra, la liturgia y la caridad. Cada uno de nosotros, que ha sido levantado por Jesús en el bautismo, somos llamados a escuchar la palabra, participar en la liturgia y servir a los demás con caridad. En efecto, Pablo declara orgullosamente que su servicio es “gratis” para convertirse en “esclavo de todos”. El papa san Juan Pablo II describió tal discipulado como ir “de la Misa a la misión”, para santificar toda la semana en el mundo cotidiano igual que hemos santificado el domingo en la iglesia. •Job, Jesús, nosotros. Hay un buen contraste entre la ansiedad interminable de Job y el equilibrio pacífico de Jesús en su contemplación y en su actividad compasiva. Una manera hermosa de prepararnos para la Cuaresma es recuperar nuestro “equilibrio” con una relación más íntima con Dios por medio de la oración, que nos puede habilitar para llegar a hacernos “todo a todos”, tal como lo expresa san Pablo.
