SCOTT THOMPSON
History of Baseball
Scott Thompson is an attorney and local historian
and author. Some of his accomplishments include:
Honor Graduate, Dublin High School, 1974; B.S.
Accounting, Mercer University, 1978; Honor Graduate, Atlanta Law School, 1983; President, Laurens
County Historical Society; Director, Dublin-Laurens
Museum; Member at Large, Dublin City Board of Education; Past President, Dublin High School Band Boosters; Columnist and feature writer,
Dublin Courier Herald; Past Chairman, Dublin Downtown Development
Authority (Main Street); Past President, Kea Memorial Foundation;
Awarded the Carolyn Watson Community Service Award, 2004;
Daughters of the American Revolution History Award, 1994; Reserve
Officer's Association Outstanding Sophomore Cadet Mercer University
Army ROTC, 1976; Feature Writer, Laurens Now Magazine., and member of the Statewide history Committee Civil War Heritage Trails. He is
a member Dublin Civitan Club and serves as a Director, and was Dublin
St. Patrick's Festival Man of the Year .in 2010. Scott is the author of
numerous history articles and at least two books, Pieces of Our Past
(Dublin, Ga.: Emerald City History Co., 2003) and Tales of the Emerald City and the Land of Laurens (Dublin, Ga.: Gem City, 1998). He
