February 2015
Offices Closed For
Presidents' Day
Payments and Billing Dates to Change
Soon your payment for electric services to Fall River Electric will be mailed to a different
address, and billing cycles will be consolidated, all in an effort to improve service to
members. Starting in April 2015, billing cycles will be consolidated from four times monthly
to only two. Meters will be read on the first and fifteenth of each month, and statements will
be mailed on the fifth and twentieth of each month.
According to Member Services Manager Brand Hathaway, “This is in response to members
requesting that billing dates be more aligned to when most members receive their semimonthly paychecks.” Additionally, payments will be mailed to and processed in a new way
in order to provide Member Services representatives more time to help members on the
phone and via chat. “The primary function of a Member Services representative here at Fall
River is to be available during normal business hours to assist members,” said Hathaway.
“These changes will allow for more member interaction, while reducing the paperwork
processing at our Ashton, Idaho headquarters.”
Fall River Electric and Fall River Propane offices will be closed on Monday,
February 16, 2015, in honor of Presidents' Day.
Presidents’ Day was originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington and was
celebrated on his birthday. The holiday became popularly known as Presidents’ Day after it was moved as part
of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday
Act, which was an attempt to create
more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. Presidents’ Day is now
popularly viewed as a day to celebrate
all U.S. presidents, past and present.
Our dedicated crews will be on standby in case of a power emergency and
will respond to quickly and safely restore power when needed. To report
an outage over the weekend or on
holidays, call 866-887-8442, or on your
smartphone, use the free “My FR" app.
Need Help to Pay
Your Energy Bill?
Colder temperatures usually result in
higher monthly energy bills, but help is
now available. The Low Income Home
Energy Assistance program, and the
Weatherization Assistance program,
are both available to Fall River
Electric members. We are accepting
applications now. To inquire, call or visit
the office in your state:

Fall River Electric’s annual meeting of members will be
held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, in Ashton, Idaho, inside
North Fremont High School. This is an opportunity for
members to attend the Co-op’s annual business meeting, to elect several members to the Board of Directors, to
learn of new products and services the Co-op is offering,
and for a chance to win some prizes and enjoy breakfast.
This year, members will be electing three of their peers
to the board. District seats up for election include District
One, which is the Rexburg/Rigby area; District Five, which
includes the Tetonia and west Driggs areas; and District
Six, encompassing the Ashton area. Members interested
in becoming a candidate for this year’s board election will
be provided instructions in our March newsletter and on
Fall River Electric’s website.
Journeyman Lineman
Trefton Drake Joins Fall River
Fall River Electric welcomes new journeyman lineman Trefton
(TJ) Drake to our team. TJ comes to us from Powder River Energy
in Gillette, Wyoming, where he worked as a lineman for five years.
Originally from the Rigby area, TJ comes from a family of linemen.
His grandfather, father, brother and two brothers-in-law either have
been, or are, linemen.
Trent Yancey, Manager of Operations for Fall River, said, “TJ will be working primarily in the
Island Park area, and will be taking the winter season to patrol lines and do damage assessments,
which will provide him with a good opportunity to become familiar with our lines and system.”
TJ enjoys fishing, hunting, and riding ATVs in his spare time. He and his wife Mercedes are
the proud parents of a new baby girl, Maelyn, born on December 10, 2014. Their entire family is
excited to be back “home” and working in Fall River Electric country.
Boggetti Retires After 32 Years Of Service
Linda Boggetti, Fall River Electric’s
GIS technician, retired on January
15, 2015, after 32 years of dedicated
service to the members of the Coop. Linda has served in a variety
of positions, from working in the
accounting department, to, assisting
the Cooperative’s General Manager, to,
in recent years, using the geographic
information system (GIS) to map all the
lines and systems of the Co-op. Linda
also drafted new substation designs,
and did other computer drafting work
for the Co-op’s construction projects.
Fall River’s Manager of Engineering,
Dave Peterson, said, “Linda has been
a valued member of our staff, very
dedicated to her responsibilities and
willing to help out no matter the
task.” When asked what she is looking
forward to doing in retirement, Linda
said, “I’m going to help my daughter
Christine with her three children;
especially with her twin one-year olds,
so being a grandmother is at the top
of the list. I’m also doing an article in
photographs for Idaho Magazine about
the small communities of Fremont
County that no longer exist, other than
in the memories of long-time residents.”
Congratulations Linda and best wishes
from everyone at Fall River!
