Adaptive Multisensor System
Adaptive Multisensor System
Introduction
Pro Patria Electronics offers special integrated
surveillance and homeland security systems on the
international market. Our technology solutions
integrate and process signals issued by different
sensor devices, including our ground surveillance
radars proven in a wide variety of real life
applications and international comparison tests.
Pro Patria Electronics’ technology allows for
displaying data and performing control tasks
from one and the same graphical system surface.
Signal sources and controlled devices are:
• Radars of our PGSR ’Beagle’ and PSR ‘Doberman’
series for rapid detection of moving targets
• Thermal and Video cameras for threat
recognition and identification
• Laser range finders, Seismic sensors,
Audio sensors, Optical barriers, etc.
to fulfill every requirement
The system is useable on most terrain types, at
all weather conditions, day/night operation to
discover vehicles, pedestrians, crawlers, swimmers
and watercrafts. The compact and lightweight
system is available in man-portable, vehicle
mounted and fix installed configuration. It can
protect borders and perimeters, ports and airports,
industrial facilities and public infrastructures.
In all cases, both the integrated sensors and
system’s features are offered tailor-made according
to the client’s needs and specifications.
Integrated sensors
Radar
Our ‘Beagle’ and ‘Doberman’ unique lightweight
man-portable radars are capable of detecting and
recognizing moving targets on or close to the ground.
The high tech DSP technologies can differentiate
between moving and stationary targets. Based
on the state-of-art technology, our radars can
determine the exact parameters of the detected
targets, they can track and classify the movements
during changing environmental conditions.
Thermal Camera
Thermal cameras provide an easily understandable
view of the observed area even at poor visibility
conditions. These cameras are detecting the thermal
radiation of the observed objects, humans and
animals. Warm-blooded animals are continuously
generating heat, which is practically impossible
to hide. High performance cameras provide
good quality image even from long distances.
Thermal cameras can be used in darkness
and actually at all weather conditions, the
cooled models are useable in foggy and
rainy environment, while the uncooled ones
are more fit to see through smoke.
Control software
Software architecture
The basic software of the control system is the
Sensor Manager Server (SMS) that performs direct
communication with the connected sensors and
forwards their output data. Visualization is realized
by the Sensor Control Interface (SCIN) that displays
data delivered by SMS in required format and provides
full sensor control functionality from this surface.
Video Camera
These devices are providing the well known visual
image of the observed area. The wide zoom
capability enables the user to see the same image
in the optical range as the thermal imager presents,
but the user can see the overview of the area.
The high tech algorithms provide automatic target
following, classification and alarm to the user.
Others
Our system is capable to control and process
data from sensors which are using different
operation principles. We can handle acoustic and
seismic sensors, optical or microwave barriers,
motion detectors, etc. These products can
complete the capabilities of the electro-optical
sensors and can fulfill special requirements.
The SMS can serve several SCINs and the SCIN can
control a number of SMSs. So the sensors distributed
over the surveillance area can not only be directly
controlled by their dedicated operator unit but also
can be addressed and requested by a remote control
center or other remote points of importance.
SCIN provides features as follows:
• Control and display functions for all
sensors on one user interface
• Support of multiple monitors and split screens
• Record and replay of all displayed data
• Real-time 3D display
• Visualization of targets by icons
• Automatic target classification
• Automatic track forming
• Automatic optical target follow
• Periodic polling of optical marker points
• Access by authorization levels
Configurations
Our system is basically available in two different
configurations, but due to these being tailormade solutions, they are freely variable and can
be customized to special user requirements.
Man-portable configuration
This configuration is designed for small scout teams to
explore hardly accessible areas like rocky mountains
or territory occupied by adverse parties. The main
concept was to provide a compact, lightweight,
low-power sensor system that can be rapidly setup or disassembled and put in backpacks within
10 minutes. The GUI of controller application
is designed for field usage, so it supports touch
screen solutions, uses easily understandable
and readable icons even in strong sunlight.
Vehicle mounted configuration
This configuration is designed for small scout
teams to observe and quickly move between
different locations. Due to the larger weight
capacity, this kind of systems offers more
sophisticated electro-optical equipment for longer
distances, supported by a larger battery package.
The vehicle mounted solution certainly can be
combined with the man-portable configuration,
the equipment can be disassembled from
the car and can be assembled on tripod.
The system can be remote controlled from
the car even via wireless connection.
Our system generally supports different sensors according to the customers’ requirements, the table below contains
typically offered values.
