2015 winter Recreation guide www.townofparadise.ca @townofparadise townofparadise www.townofparadise.ca @townofparadise townofparadise Mayor’s message On behalf of the Town of Paradise, I’m happy to present the 2015 Winter Recreation Guide highlighting this year’s planned activities for Paradise. Our community is definitely an active one. Recreation is a great way to stay healthy and active, and a fun way to connect with other people. As a young community that values events and activities; Paradise has a host of recreational opportunities for residents to enjoy. The town is pleased to announce that the community sliding hill will be in place for the 2015 Winter! This is a great opportunity for people of all ages to participate in recreation during the winter months. The Paradise Double Ice Complex officially opened its doors on November 2nd with a community skate in which hundreds of residents had the opportunity to tour the facility. The Grand Opening took place on Friday, November 28 in which there was a variety of entertainment and a showcase of the arena user groups. I invite everyone to use this guide not only to find activities that interest you and your family, but also as a way to make the most of what Paradise has to offer by getting involved in your community. I encourage you to stay informed about what is happening in the Town of Paradise by checking out our website at townofparadise.ca as well as following us on Twitter @ townofparadise. This Winter, treat yourself to an active and healthy lifestyle! Dan Bobbett Mayor Chairperson’s message On behalf of my colleagues on Council it gives me great pleasure in taking this opportunity to thank all residents for coming out this past year to take in all the events and programs that the Town of Paradise offered. With the Christmas Season coming to a conclusion, parents take this time to plan their Childs extracurricular activities. Please keep this Recreation Guide at your fingertips as the town has a number of opportunities that may be of interest to you! There are a wide variety of programs & events that will appeal to all ages, everything from fitness programs, youth programs to special events like “Snow & Ice in Paradise”- something for everyone! The new Paradise Double Ice Complex is a welcome addition to the Town’s Recreation Infrastructure and will provide a full schedule of public, family, adult, parentn-tot and recreational skating. The arena will provide a variety of opportunities for the community to utilize the facility and will host the Avalon Sled Dogs, Easter Seals and the Tom Cats Women’s Hockey League.
