If you upload an image in advance your card can be pre-printed and be ready for collection in due course. Pre-printed student cards can be collected from the Issue Desk/Main Counter in the Library during staffed periods, see above, ‘Library’ section. - Alternatively, you can use the library card self-registration booths by using your username and password. This will enable your photograph to be taken and your details to be recorded. You can collect your card from the Issue Desk/Main Counter. You may be asked to return to the Desk at a later time or on the following day. Combined Library and National Union of Students (NUS) card Although it is possible to get a single-purpose Library Card, students are normally recommended to get the joint Library and NUS (National Union of Students) Card. 9 The NUS is a non-political organisation dedicated to the welfare of students, and BUSU is its University of Bath branch. Most students belong to the NUS, as there are many benefits to being a member (see www.nus.org.uk/en/about-nus/ for further information). All students may join the NUS for free as the University of Bath automatically pays the membership fee. When you Register On-Line, you will notice that the default is for the University to pass your membership details to the Student Union. This means that you will be able to receive a Combined Library and NUS Card. If you are happy with this, leave this box ticked. If you do not wish to join the NUS, delete the tick from the box.
