Vertex® Enterprise On-Demand Service Description
Vertex® Enterprise Tax Accounting and Data Warehouse applications are available as Software as a Service (SaaS)
offerings to be remotely accessed via the Internet. Application hosting services include; the client on-boarding
process, preliminary application configuration services, utilization of the Vertex Enterprise Tax Accounting
and Data Warehouse applications, data hosting, maintenance and operation of the SaaS environment, offsite
backup and disaster recovery and client support.
Vertex® Enterprise On-Demand Service Summary
SSAE-16 hosting service provider audited data center and infrastructure services to cover all necessary hardware,
software, network, and operational resources.
Tier 4 data center hosting environments designed to support mission critical systems with fully redundant subsystems
(e.g., cooling, power, network, and storage) and biometric access control security zones.
Business continuity protection for disaster recovery scenarios, utilizing a remote data center with automated
failover (warm standby) to minimize service availability gaps.
99.5% hosting service uptime service level agreement.
An independent third party Security Management Program using Verizon CyberTrust Security providing a
comprehensive, systematic and practical certification program that assesses and validates the strength of our
hosted environment’s security.
Infrastructure management, monitoring, maintenance and updates including the hardware, the operating
environment, and the Vertex Enterprise system.
Collaborative services to assist with system performance tuning across tax processing, data warehouse
and reporting functions.
High scalability and availability provided via a multi-tier load balanced server deployment.
Standard provisioning of Vertex Enterprise system test and production instances, additional charge to accommodate
additional specialized deployment scenarios.
Vertex Enterprise supports direct data import and export from Microsoft® Excel, and file import and export via
a web browser client.
Vertex Enterprise optionally supports direct data integration via secured communication channels with remote
Enterprise Resource Planning systems (Oracle® E-Business Suite and SAP® ERP) and financial consolidation
products (Oracle® Hyperion) for the purpose of trial balance and adjustments import.
Vertex Enterprise optionally supports direct integration via secured communication channels with client’s remote
Microsoft® SharePoint for document management services.
SCP certified customer support:
Monday through Friday 8:15 AM to 8:00 PM Eastern Time exclusive of Vertex Holidays.
Client Responsibilities
Provide reliable, low-latency, high-bandwidth network connectivity to Vertex Enterprise On-Demand.
Provide and manage client systems and software including client desktop, integrated ERP/Financial Consolidation
and Microsoft® SharePoint solutions.
Staff and operate the Vertex Enterprise applications.
Implement and maintain the configuration of the Vertex Enterprise applications.
Monitor data movement, data updates, and validate Vertex Enterprise system upgrades.
Collaborate with Vertex personnel for troubleshooting and system tuning.
Validate the accuracy of tax results.
