All the machinery is well engineered and built for long life and reliability, and BLEC equipment has gained a good reputation from around the world.
The Company was founded in the UK back in 1986 by Gary and Sue Mumby, and is still run by them both today.
Gary Mumby’s background as a landscape contractor was invaluable, as the hands on experience allowed him to design and develop
new innovative machinery in both the landscaping and turfcare sectors, and which is still continuing to this day

The BLEC Axarator is a simple cost effective Aerator capable of de-compacting large
areas quickly and efficiently. The AXE shape spiral blade design can easily penetrate hard
packed ground moving the earth from side to side leaving a fractured absorbent soil encouraging excellent root growth, for extra penetration the drum can be ballast filled
with water. An optional rear finishing roll smooths and firms up the surface, this heavy
duty aerator is designed for long life, trouble free operation and a high work rate.

The BLEC Bar Graders are ideal for grading soil and stoned areas quickly and easily.
The angle iron bars are positioned to carry out grading and earthmoving in the forward
position. By simply removing the locking bar, the quick hitch frame can be positioned in
reverse so the bars back blade and smooth the surface.

The NEW BLECavator compact series has been re-designed to work more efficiently, and
is supplied standard with a quick fit attachment system offering a STONEPICKER - TURF
STRIPPER and SEED HOPPER as options to increase versatility. The well proven standard
BLECavator is a ONE PASS GROUND PREPARATOR - Cultivating and Digging down to
between 10 -18cm lifting and screening the stones and debris down to between 1450mm through the adjustable screening tines -burying the stones and debris, raking the

The BLECavator heavy duty series are all equipped with a long life drive system, 4 speed

The BLEC Box Scrapers are a low cost easy to use landscape tool, ideal for cultivating,
levelling and clearing – a must for the contractor. Adjustable ripping tines can be raised
clear of the ground or set down to rip up the ground, the ‘box’ effect will allow soil to be
dragged forward filling in any hollows, the reverse blade will backfill or back blade very
effectively. An optional wheel kit permits accurate grading. Also ideal for grading stone/
gravel roadways. The Box Scraper can also be used as a laser grader by adding the
optional laser kit (see laser graders)

lines, the rear set of rollers split the shallow ridges, covering up the tiny seeds in the top

The BLEC DISC Seeder is a very efficient way of overseeding small or large areas quickly
with very little surface disturbance. Equipped with a well proven seeding system, which
can accommodate a wide range of seed mixtures from small bent seeds to large rye
grass seeds. The flow of the seed can be started or stopped ON THE MOVE at anytime by
the use of a hydraulic seed shut off assembly, operated from the double acting spool valve
on the tractor. Standard machine has twin row disc assy, accurate steel seed metering
system. Adjustable disc coulters with delivery tubes, front and rear depth control smooth
rolls (water ballastable), side seed metering wheel, and ballast weights.

The BLEC Dragmats are ideal for incorporating materials into the
surface, the chain link design - drag and mix sand – loam –
seeds into a grass or soil surface – a quick and efficient and
economical finishing tool.

The BLEC Twin Leg Gravel Bander has been designed to fit on compact to mid size tractors
from 30-60hp and capable of carrying out both small and larger drainage schemes. The
unique PTO driven Vibra leg system creates a smooth cutting action allowing both legs to
penetrate the ground down to 25cm and also backfilling the gravel or dry sand easily. Leg
spacing is 60cm with a band width of either 20mm or 25mm. The rear steel wheels firm
up the trenches and control the working depth by a screw adjuster.

The BLEC Groundbreaker is the answer to relieving soil compaction. This rotary decompactor will penetrate the hardest of soil conditions, with very little surface disturbance
– the concept is simple – a pto driven rotor fitted with special hardened curved wedge
shape blades slowly rotates, allowing the blades to penetrate down to between 10-26cm.
The soil is fractured laterally by the side forces created by the sequential positioning
of the blades. Mounted in between the blades are wide flat skids, which hold the turf
down preventing any heave occurring. A rear smooth roll gently firms up the surface. The
optional rear tine frame opens up the slits for sand backfilling.

The BLEC Landscape Rakes are well proven easy to use, and ideal for raking and levelling
soil, stone, sand etc. The high grade steel teeth flex and allow the finer material to pass
between them, leaving a clean raked finish. By angling the rake head either manually or
hydraulically (option) stones and debris can be windrowed. Best results are obtained in
dry conditions. Accurate rake tine depth is achieved by rear castor wheels with individual
height control.

The legendary well proven BLEC Multiseeders are available in two versions – MK1 and
(MK2 – see overleaf) This MK1 type comes standard with a front multi spike cast ring
roll - seed hopper - drag brush & smooth roller. The Multi Seeder is a fast efficient way
of seeding and surface aerating with virtually no surface disturbance, the front spike
roller produces 750 ‘flower pot’ holes approximately per sq metre, and 1500 with the
optional rear spike roller fitted. Seed is then spread accurately across the full width in and
around the holes – a rear drag brush incorporates the seeds into the surface. An optional
additional drag brush can be mounted at the rear for more efficient seed incorporation.

amenity type areas, the floating twin spike rollers follow the contours, saturating the

The BLEC Multispray is designed to apply liquid soil amendments such as gypsum,
calcium and wetting agents down through the root structure of the turf into the soil,
producing quicker and more effective results, rather than just spraying on the surface.

The BLEC Multivator is a unique sportsturf renovation implement carrying out decompacting and top dressing by recycling buried soil / root zone up to the surface
and incorporating back into the root structure, saving time and money from importing

The BLEC POWER BOX RAKE is a multi-use quick fit attachment to suit the majority of

The popular BLEC Rotor Rake is designed to attach onto either the Honda F720 models.
The working principle is simple; a contra rotating rotor fitted with high grade steel teeth
penetrates the soil forking out stones and debris, and by hydraulically angling the rotor
either to the left or right unwanted material can be windrowed away from the finished
area. Turning is made easy by steering clutches fitted to the Honda power unit. The
hydraulic powered system ensures long and trouble free working. The rotor frame can be
easily detached for transport through a 75cm opening.

The BLEC Rotor Rake is an ideal implement for preparing the soil for either seeding or
turfing – the working principle is simple – A heavy duty rotor is fitted with high quality
teeth mounted in a spiral sequence – the rotor contra rotates the teeth penetrate the soil
up to 50mm and separate the stones and debris from the soil into a windrow to the side,
and by working in a uniform way large areas can be raked off quickly and easily. Depth
adjustment is via the rear castor wheel screw jacks.

The larger BLEC Rotor Rakes are available with either the multi-tine fine tooth rotor for
raking stones off down to 20mm size or the alternative bolt on long tine for deeper
raking down to 10cm and removing stones from 25mm and larger. All rakes are fitted
with a hydraulic bi-angling rotor with duplex chain drive, overload clutch and heavy duty

The BLEC Unispread self loading topdresser is a quick and economical system of
spreading sand or loam onto sports areas. The large capacity bucket is hydraulically
raised and lowered. A wheel transfer frame then spreads the weight to the low ground
pressure tyres when spreading and transporting. A variable speed hydraulic feed drum
with an automatic opening gate - allows accurate spreading across the full width of the

The BLEC Turfmaker seeders are based on a proven method of seed incorporation.
The front notched ring rollers crush lumps, level the soil to create a firm surface also
producing small pockets in the soil, ready to accept the grass seed, which is spread the
full width of the worked area (not drilled into lines) The rear set of rollers split the shallow
ridges formed by the front rollers – incorporating the seeds evenly in the top 12mm soil,
and surface disturbance is kept to a minimum. BLEC recommend the fitting of spacer
rings, which increases germination of up to 50%.
