(PA) and has worked there for 6 years. She is a specialist in the Book and Journal

Kota Buku is a government agency in charge of book trade and capacity
building of the industry. Its operation is under the purview of the Ministry of
Education and is mandated to oversee the interest of agencies, industry players
and public at large related to books.
Irina Prokhorova
Editor-in-Chief, New Literary Observer Publishing House, Russia
Irina Prokhorova, born in Moscow, is a culture historian, literary critic, editor,
publisher, and social activist.
In 1992 she established New Literary Observer publishing house which at present
comprises of 3 scholarly periodicals & over 80 books per year on literary
criticism, philosophy, history, cultural and interdisciplinary studies, & contemporary Russian
prose and poetry.
She hosts 2 live radio and TV programs on the cutting-edge social and political issues.
She has been honoured with many prestigious awards including: the independent

Germany. Trained as a bookseller, she started her career in publishing as a sales
manager at a small independent feminist press after having studied history and
German literature, then worked as foreign rights manager and editorial assistant at Verso Books
based in London, UK before taking her present position at DuMont Buchverlag in 2001.

Asian countries.
He spent a big part of each year travelling extensively to book fairs and teachers events to meet
customers and distributors. Before joining ELI (2008), he worked for Black Cat/Cideb, another
publishing house specializing in foreign language readers. He was in charge of the distribution
business in Northern Europe and the USA.

Ronald Schild
Managing Director of the MVB Marketing-und Verlagsservice des Buchhandels
GmbH, Germany
Ronald Schild studied business administration in Germany, France and Great
Britain. He began his career as a product manager in the consumer goods
business in London. In 1997, he moved to Frankfurt to head the new e-business
division of the German branch of Lexmark. This led to him taking over as Chairman of the
Board of EMB AG, a firm of management consultants that specializes in e-business, and in
2005 becoming head of Amazon’s partners’ program Merchants. Since 2006, Ronald Schild has
been Managing Director of the MVB Marketing-und Verlagsservice des Buchhandels GmbH,
which is an economic subsidiary of the Börsenverein, the German Publishers and Booksellers
Association in 2006.
