Traditions create a sense of belonging and certainty. Some traditions can be extravagant milestone birthday trips or more frequent -like story time before bed. One of my favorite daily traditions is my daughter making my coffee drink each morning before I drive her carpool to school – a future Dutch Bros. barista in the making! First, 225-4474 [email protected] the Redding Recreation office will move to a new home on the second floor of Sue Roi City Hall this spring to consolidate our operations and bring you more efficient programs and events. We will let you know when we have settled in! 225-4539 [email protected] Secondly, we launched the new Recreation Management Software (RMS) Jenny Moore which allows you to register on-line 24/7 for our programs and events. Start a new family tradition todaybuild your family profile and register online! Our family picked up a tradition that lapsed last summer. While at Anthropologie, a favorite shop of mine, I bought a book that provides daily prompts with space to write responses for each member of my family for three years. At dinner, we answer a daily question and catch up on any we missed. What animal do you feel like? Where would you like to visit? With a 7 and a 13-year old in the house, the responses provide a telling window into their thoughts and current demeanor. As we started repeating prompts from last year, I became acutely aware of the way that they are changing and growing. As the hustle and bustle of practices, homework, work, meetings and other duties whirl around us, traditions Supervisor of Youth Sports Supervisor of Aquatics and Adult Programs 225-4479 [email protected] Lona Bates Administrative Assistant 225-4111 [email protected] Therese Roberts Marketing Coordinator 225-4004 [email protected] whether big or small provide important sources of familiarity in our evolving world.
