Questions/ E-mail [email protected] Program: The Case for Schedule Risk Analysis, with speaker Francisco Cruz, PE, RMA, PMA Consultants. Project schedules are typically based on one-point estimates of task durations, i.e., overlooking the inherited uncertainty carried by deterministic schedules. While project risk analysis is now more common in project management, organizations are still allocating schedule contingency based on empirical methods, and most of the projects are delivered behind schedule. The proposed and proven solution to increase the probability of on-time project delivery is to perform schedule risk analysis (SRA). This presentation will deliver the case for implementing schedule risk analysis in your projects, showing the recommended approach to perform qualitative and quantitative SRAs, and discussing lessons learned on scope negotiation, facilitation, confidence levels, and schedule contingency allocation. Speaker: Francisco Cruz, PE, RMA, Associate at PMA Consultants Mr. Francisco Cruz is an Associate at PMA Consultants with over 10 years experience in cost control, cost estimating, scheduling management, risk management, virtual design and construction, project management, project inspection, and supervisory management. His project experience includes infrastructure, pharmaceutical, mixed-use, corporate office buildings, and municipal projects in the US, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. Mr. Cruz has performed cost and schedule risk analyses on more than 50 pharmaceutical and infrastructure projects, including tunnels, airports, bridges, and ports totaling more than $4.5B. Currently, Mr. Cruz serves as one of the leaders of the risk knowledge center within PMI Scheduling Community of Practice (PMI SCoP). He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering, and a M.Eng. in Construction Management. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida and Puerto Rico. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Optional dinners offered at $10.00 per member with advance reservations.
