The National Police Force (PNTL) yesterday arrested Spokesperson for the leader of Maubere Revolutionary Council (CRM), Mauk Moruk, Angela Freitas at her
residence in Bairo Formosa. Lawyer of Ms. Freitas, Pedro Aparicio said the court had issued warrant of arrest to be used for arresting his client as she was suspected
of breaching the Penal Code Article 188, the Article 194, the Article 195 and the Article 202 which was about uniform abuse crime and criminal association. “There
are two warrants of arrest to be applied for my client; therefore the process of arresting my client took time,” he said. Mr. Aparicio said only the investigation process
could set whether his client was really engaged in such acts of crime or not.

The Judge Administrator, Duarte Tilman affirmed that the court had issued a notification letter, asking for the removal of Mr. Guterres’ political immunity, but
nothing had happened. “So far there has been no decision, at least there should be decision whether the case is going to be continued or not, so that the court set

the donors’ supports. Mr. Lopes affirmed that there were three prioritizing programs presented by the Government during the meeting; they were the State budget

and Mauk Moruk and followers. Director for MAHEIN Foundation, Nelson Belo made the comments in relation to PNTL’s ongoing joint operations. Mr. Belo said the
joint operations were going on, but it had not yet appeared any positive results. “The operations of hunting down the escaped prisoners totally failed. Why I am saying
it totally fails as something is wrong there politically,” Belo told journalists. In response, Deputy PNTL commander, Afonso de Jesus said the police were incapable of
recapturing the escaped prisoners as lacking cooperation between the police and communities.
*PM Xanana submits his resignation letter to president of republic

Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao yesterday (5/2) submitted his official letter of resignation to the President of the Republic, Taur Matan Ruak (TMR) at the Palace of
the President at 17: 00 hrs. An unnamed source affirmed that the letter was in Portuguese language where Xanana explained the reason for resigning from his post.
The news on PM Xanana’s resignation has also been published by the Portuguese news agency LUSA. In the letter, Xanana proposed the ex-Minister for Health,
Doctor Rui Maria Araujo to replace him as the country’s new prime minister.

Executive Director for National Hospital of Guido Valadares (HNGV), Jose Antonio Guterres has called on patients’ families not to bring their children to the hospital
as their organism is not immune of infections. “I am calling on the families not to bring the children as they are easy to be infected by disease,” Mr. Guterres said. The
hospital is currently applying a new rule for visitors to visit the patients by 12: 00 and at 18: 00 where the visitors are not allowed to bring their children to the hospital.

Ermera Police Station is currently holding an investigation into maltreatment case, engaging the Timorese Defense Force (F-FDTL) soliders on Tuesday (4/2) in
Ermera. School Head master of Nino KonisSantana Secondary School, Antonio Alves said one of his students was maltreated by F-FDTL soldiers during a cleanup
activity in the area. “There were many children during the cleanup, the children greeted this soldier, but he went to call his two colleagues to come to beat the boy.
The soldiers were in uniform,” he said. Ermera Police Commander, Superintendent Mateus Mendes said the police directly investigated the case and said the victim
was currently receiving an intensive medical treatment in the hospital. Commander Mendes affirmed that the police would hand over findings of the investigation to
the Public Prosecution for legal proceedings.
*Baucau health department files 40 dengue cases

Head of Baucau Health Department, Gelagio Antonio Ribeiro said his department had identified 40 dengue fever cases through a laboratory test. Mr. Ribeiro affirmed
that 12 of the patients positively found with dengue and other 37 were with symptoms of dengue fever. He explained that the dengue five appeared in the beginning
of January and had begun infecting the children, but they had discharged from the hospital. The country’s health service is currently doing campaigns on preventing
the dengue fever by spraying anti-mosquito medicines in the places which is suspected of appearing such fever.
*Japan to build Comoro Bridge III this year, says Minister Sousa

Minister for Public Work (MOP), Gastao Sousa said the Japanese Government would help construct Comoro Bridge III and said the plan for the bridge construction
had been made and that would be implemented this year. Mr. Sousa affirmed that MOP would ask Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao for help in order to use the allocated infrastructure budget for compensation to the residents’ houses which might be on target of the construction. According to the plan, the construction of the
bridge would begin in the area of Timor Block up-to Raikotu of Comoro, Dili.

eliminated. The reshuffle of cabinet is made to make the upcoming Government’s work to be more effective and be more efficient. The Coalition Parties Spokesperson, Mariano Assanami Sabino said through a discussion, the Coalition party had decided that the upcoming government members maximally should be 30 members. “The new Government members are 30 and that is maximum numbers,” Assanami said after the third meeting of the coalition party at Prime Minister Xanana

the organized crime at the border zone. “The US Embassy is pleased to have provided US $ 830.000 for UNDOC for two years to provide trainings for the Border

its supports and called on BPU officers to use the donated equipments properly for the sake of the country’s sovereignty.
