Dorothy Eleanor Nielsen
Dorothy Eleanor Nielsen of
Athabasca passed away on
January 25, 2015.
Dorothy was born on August 12,
1920
in
L l o y d m i n s t e r,
Saskatchewan.
She married
Alex Nielsen on August 12, 1941.
Dorothy was a farm wife for 23
years at Baptiste Lake, retiring
on one acre of the farm. Dorothy
then went to work at Tomboy
Store. Dorothy was active in the
community with Eastern Star,
Red Cross, and Winding Trail
Church. Dorothy moved to
Pioneer Place in 1990. She was
active in the Athabasca
Reformed Congregation and
Pleasant Valley Lodge Craft club.
The Pioneer Place family
became her second family.
Dorothy has touched many
people with her kindness and the
following is her philosophy of life.
It Isn’t Enough
It isn’t enough to say in our
hearts
That we like a man for his ways,
It isn’t enough that we fill our
minds,
With paeans of silent praise;
Nor is it enough that we honor a
man
As our confidence upward
mounts,
It’s going right up to the man
himself,
And telling him so that counts!
If a man does a work you really
admire,
Don’t leave a kind word unsaid,
In fear that to do so might make
him vain
And cause him to “lose his
head.”
But reach out your hand and tell
him,
“Well Done”, and see how his
gratitude swells;
It isn’t the flowers we strew on
the grave,
It’s the word to the living tells.
-Anonymous
Dorothy leaves to mourn her
daughter, Norma(Son) Dalgleish
of Kamloops, BC; grandchildren:
Tom Peterson, Sherry(Mike)
Kissick, Derek Dalgleish; greatgrandchildren: Amanda, Ashley,
Adam, Tanner, Skylar, Erin,
Miles; great-great grandchildren:
Shawn, Astorya, Kayden.
Dorothy was predeceased by her
h u s b a n d , A l e x ; d a u g h t e r,
Sandra; grand- daughter, Lisa.
A memorial service will be held
on Friday, February 6, 2015 at
the Athabasca Reformed Church
at 2:00 pm with Pastor Al Plat
officiating. Cremation has taken
place.
In lieu of flowers,

Gone is the face we loved so
dear,
Silent is the voice we loved to
hear,
Too far away for sight or speech,
But not too far for thought to
read,
Sweet to remember her who
once was here,
And who, though absent is just
as dear.
You will live forever in our

In Loving Memory of
Leonard Chamzuk
May 26, 1941-February 4, 2014
We cannot bring the times back,
your hand we cannot touch,
But we only have sweet
memories
Of the one we loved so much.
What we would give
To hold your hand,
Your happy face to see
To hear your voice & see your
Smile that meant so much to us.
What you suffered, you told few
You didn’t deserve what you
went through.
Tired & weary you made no fuss
But you tried so hard to stay with
us.
They say that memories are
golden,
And well I guess that’s true
But we never wanted just
memories
We still wish you were here.
We love you & miss you

It’s been 13 years, son
Silent the tears that fall
Living our lives without you
The special years will not return
When we were all together.
But with our love for you
You’ll walk with us forever.
Memory is a lonely land
A lane so often traveled
Because it heads to thoughts of
you.
May the wind blow gently
And whisper in your ear
How much we love and miss you.
Ride with the wind, son.
Forever loved and missed by
Dad, Mom, brother George &
