What if I want to use a
hospital that isn’t on the list?
The hospitals and day-patient units
in ‘Our Hospital List’ are carefully
chosen for their quality, value for
money and the range
of services they provide.
We would always recommend that
you use a hospital in ‘Our Hospital
List’. This will mean you can go
ahead with eligible treatment
knowing that the costs will be
covered.
If you choose to have eligible
treatment at any other hospital,
your policy will only cover part of
the costs, and you’ll need to pay
the rest yourself. Please see your
membership handbook for more
details.

will check you’re covered, help
you choose your hospital and
specialist, and take you through
the claim process.
How do I use this list?
Please check the hospitals and
other healthcare facilities in your
area, using the map on page 4 as
a guide. If you have any questions,
please call us on 0845 600 7696.
Remember, not all specialists and
specialities are available at all
hospitals, so please call us so we
can confirm which specialists you
can use at that hospital or facility.
Will this list ever change?
Yes, there may be rare occasions
when we remove or add a hospital
or another facility listed on
‘Our Hospital List’ to maintain the
standards of our service to our
members. The latest version of this
list will be available on our website.
If you call us before arranging
any treatment on 0845 600 7696,
we can let you know about any
changes to hospitals near you.
We may record and/or monitor calls
for quality assurance, training and
as a record of our conversation.

List of facilities
If you have treatment at one of the
private hospitals on this list, you’ll
normally have your own private
room with a television, a telephone
and an en-suite bathroom. You’ll
have a choice of dishes for each
meal, and your visitors can usually
come and go as they wish (so long
as you aren’t having medical
treatment at the time).
Many operations are now carried
out as day-patient cases. This
means patients are able to return
home the same day.
If you’re treated in a high
dependency unit or as a day-patient,
you may stay on an open ward
rather than in a single room while
you recover from your operation.
An open ward means the nurses
can observe you more easily.
