Welcome Message
th
It is our pleasure and honor to welcome you to our 7 annual Under
the Tuscan Moon benefit dinner and auction.
We are excited to have this year’s event at a new venue, the historic
and beautiful Dolce Hayes Mansion. We hope that you will enjoy
tonight’s dinner and entertainment (our auctioneer, Hunter Elkins, will
be with us again).
During the past few months, dedicated volunteers, including parents,
teachers and staff, have worked tirelessly in helping to put this event
together. Only with everyone working as a team could we make this
evening a success. This is truly what sets our school apart.
Without your support, we would definitely not be able to have this
amazing fundraiser. So, thank you for being here! With the money we
raise here tonight, the PTA can help support the needs of the school.
This year we would like to contribute this evening’s proceeds to the
building of a permanent shade structure for the blacktop area and
various other needs of the school.
Sit back and enjoy this evening.
Sincerely,
Bobi Thai

Message from the Principal
Welcome JFS family and friends,
On behalf of the students and staff at JFS Elementary, I would like to
welcome you to the annual Under the Tuscan Moon fundraiser
sponsored by the PTA.
There has been an excitement in the air with the class art projects on
display in the main entry of the school. Students, teachers, and
parents have been admiring the beautiful artwork. I’m looking
forward to see the bidding in action.
Proceeds raised tonight not only go directly into the classrooms, they
are also used to support many programs here at JFS: Visual and
Performing Arts, Science, Technology Integration, Anti-bullying and
Character Building, and Literacy. These programs contribute to our
students’ well-rounded school experience.
Thank you to the wonderful parent volunteers who helped make this
night possible. Countless hours have been spent to make this a
memorable event, and I hope you enjoy the activities of the evening.
Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Maureen McClintock
Principal

Master of Ceremonies
We are delighted to have a distinguished and suave Marketing
executive, Hao Pham, as our Master of Ceremonies this year. Hao
Pham, who grew up in Vietnam and in the blue ridge mountains of
West Virginia, has been a resident of California for over 30 years. Hao
has lived in Evergreen since 2005 and has been an active parent at the
school helping with Movie Night, and other events over the past few
years. Hao has worked for a number of tech companies such as SGI,
AMD, and SanDisk in the Bay Area for over 25 years. Hao is blessed
with an amazing wife, Pari Pham, and two lovely boys, a 3 rd grader and
a 6th grader at JFS Elementary. Hao has a great passion for golf. He
would play golf on any day and in any weather if his wife allowed him.
Auctioneer
We would like to welcome back our auctioneer for this year’s event,
Hunter Elkins. He has generously donated his time and talent to us
this evening.
Hunter Elkins is the CEO of Elkins Retail Advertising with headquarters
right here in Evergreen. His children both attended Silver Oak,
Chaboya and Evergreen Valley High School. Alex, the oldest, is
studying advertising at San Jose State, and Rachel is at the University
of Oregon where she is studying to be a writer.
Hunter and his wife Gina, a school teacher, both volunteer at Saint
Francis of Assisi parish. Hunter sits on the board of Next Door
Solutions to Domestic Violence and handles marketing for Second
Harvest Food Bank and the Bay Area Food Banks.
Auction Rules & Information
GENERAL
Keep in mind where the money is going. It will go back to support the
needs of the school that will enrich our children’s lives. Having said
that, merchandise is sold “as is” and all sales are final. There can be no
refunds or exchanges. Where available the retail value of the article
donated has been noted in this program and is intended for general
information for the bidders only. After the closing of the auctions, you
may pay by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express at the
cashier table, at which time your purchases will be given to you. To
expedite the check out process and avoid the long line, we recommend
the use of checks. You are responsible for your items once they are
claimed.
SILENT AUCTION
All items will be displayed from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm. Along with
each item you will find a bid sheet. To place a bid, simply sign your bid
number on the next available line along with your name and bid
amount, which must be at least $10 more than the previous bid.
Please ensure it is legible or the item goes to the next bidder. Also,
be sure to include both bid number and name, or the item goes to the
next bidder.
The first line on the bid sheet will show you the minimum bid for the
item. If you are the first person to bid on an item, just place your
number and name beside the minimum bid (unless you want to bid
higher of course!).
You may bid as many times as you want. Make sure you carefully read
the item description; some may have expiration dates or special
conditions.
Payment by the successful bidder may be made after the closing of the
live auction at the cashier table, at which time your item will be given
to you. Please leave all items in their place until check out is
completed.
LIVE AUCTION
The live auction will be held from 8:15 pm until about 10:45 pm.
Bidding for all items is competitive and is accomplished by raising your
hand. The highest bidder, determined by the auctioneer is the
“winner” of the auctioned item, and will be asked to confirm the
purchase by showing your bid number. The purchaser is responsible
to make the payment at the end of the auction, at the cashier table.
