Any rule not covered specifically by the IHSA will be interpretd by the USEF rule. ENTRIES Entries close April 1, 2015. All exhibitors are encouraged to make their entries by that date. Entries will be accepted at the regular rate up to April 12, 2014. After April 12, 2015, post entries will be accepted at the regular rate plus an additional $10 per class. Entries are to be made on the official entry form. One owner per entry form. Send copies of registration papers, amateur cards, and pony measurement cards with entries. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS All horses must have current health papers issued within 30 days of the show. Out of state horses must have negative Coggins test dated within 12 months of show. TRANSFERS, SUBSTITUTIONS, REFUNDS The transfer of a horse and/or rider from one class to another will be allowed as follows: The show office must be notified prior to the affected classes. Horses may be switched to another class without penalty. Additional class entries will be charged a $10.00 post entry fee. In the case of an injury, a veterinarian’s certificate must be presented and entry fees, minus a $25.00 office charge, will be refunded. Entries not officially scratched will be subject to a $25.00 fine. Management reserves the right to split, combine or cancel classes. STABLING Stalls are available in the Iowa State Fairgrounds Main Horse Barn and auxiliary barns. All stalls have doors. Each horse entered is required to have a stall. No first bedding given. Jacobson Exhibition Center is a flexible venue with the versatility to host events ranging from livestock and trade shows to concerts and sporting events. The state-of-the-art facility is fully acclimatized and includes a show arena, a covered warm-up arena and fixed seating for 3,500. The striking design and unique architecture combined with tiled quilt patterns adorning the exterior walls make the Exhibition Center the ideal space for any large event. Classic entry fees are divided into two payments: a Declaration Fee of $50.00 is required with your entry form and the second payment, a Starting Fee of $50.00, is required prior to the start of the session in which the class is held. You may pay the $100.00 with your entry form if you wish. Classic fees are non-refundable in all situations. If April Nomination Fee has not been paid, a $150 Nomination Fee must be paid in addition to the entry fee. Prize money is divided according to the rules set by the UPHA. UPHA CHALLENGE CUP CLASSES To be eligible to show in a UPHA Challenge Cup Class, each rider must be a member of the UPHA. ******* TRAINER CASH INCENTIVE PROGRAM ******* One Trainer’s name will be drawn each session including the two Academy sessions. The name of the trainer of each entry showing in each session will be entered in a drawing. At the conclusion of each performance, one trainer’s name will be drawn, and will win $100. A new drawing is done each session; names do not carry over from previous sessions. The trainer’s name will be obtained from the entry form. Turn left on East 30th, enter through Main Gate. From Western Iowa From I-80 eastbound, take Hwy I-235. Stay on I-235 through downtown Des Moines and after crossing the Des Moines River, start looking for the East University exit. Take the East University exit, and follow University Ave. to East 30th Street. Turn right on East 30th to the Main Gate of the fairgrounds. From Northern Iowa From I-35 southbound, continue going straight onto I-235. Take the East University exit, follow the signs to East University Ave. Turn left onto University Ave. and follow to East 30th Street. Turn right on East 30th to the Main Gate of the fairgrounds. From Southern Iowa From I-35 northbound, take the Des Moines freeway exit, I-235.
