Management Memo
I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season! As we come to the New Year, it is important to take a
moment to appreciate all the amazing staff members and volunteers that make Palm Creek such a special
place to call home. We are excited to greet you as you return during this busy time of year- season kickoff!
Ready to make Palm Creek your permanent winter home? Stop by and see Nancy and her sales team to
take a look at the exciting new floor plans and homes available and discuss site rent incentives. Looking to
become an RV annual and build your custom casita, awnings, porches and more? We are offering site rent
incentives for our new annual guests, and we have already improved sites available for you to pull in and
take over. Secure your site in your favorite neighborhood for years to come. See Christy in Guest Services
for details.
We have some exciting lineups for January! There are still tickets available for many of the offerings, so
make sure to check out the lineup in the Events & Activities section. Don’t miss Monday Morning Coffee
and Donuts every week at 8 am at the Fireside Patio. Come sip coffee with friends, enjoy a morning treat
and find out what exciting things are happening for the week. Join us for our Nine and Dine and the Palm
Creek Invitational Golf Tournament in January - see the golf section of the newsletter for details. Stop by
for our Patio Lunch every Wednesday and enjoy live music and delicious food. There are dances, bus trips,
dinners, shows and more!
If you are new to the neighborhood, be sure to stop by the Activities Office to find out about our clubs,
sports, activities, classes, and ways that you can have fun every day. There is something for everyone here
at Palm Creek!
I look forward to seeing you at Welcome Home II on January 10th. We have made some changes to the
entertainment and we are sure you are going to have a great time dancing to the sounds of Heartbeat, a
band well known and loved, and enjoying a tasty barbecue style lunch. I’ll be circulating through the
event so feel free to say hi!

Sales Center
Happy New Year! If you have just arrived at Palm Creek and are either renting an RV or in your own home, we have
many exciting things to tell you! We have introduced three new models: The Park Cottage (400 sq ft), Palm Cottage I
(approx. 700 sq ft) and the Palm Cottage II ( approx. 900 sq ft). These new models are priced from $54,900 to $79,900.
Stop by our sales office anytime for a tour of these homes and floor plans.
Throughout the resort are several new homes to purchase. Every size, all price points and ready to move in. Many are
already marked down with annual incentives and seven-year warranties. We are now also selling homes year-round
and not just seasonally, as we have in the past. Pick your favorite space, and your dream home will be completed as
fast as Cavco can build it and the contractors can set it!
This month, please mark your calendars for the following dates:
January 8th @ 1:00 pm please join me in the sales center for a TOUR OF ALL THE NEW HOMES. We will tour throughout the Resort in the golf carts viewing all the new homes in the resort. I will also have a drawing for a $100.00 gift
card. Plus, we'll talk about landscaping and promotions, etc.
January 22nd @ 9:30 am in the Ocotillo Room. I will be conducting a seminar: “Everything You Need to Know About
Purchasing a Home in Palm Creek". This seminar is very informative and will help you with your decision to purchase a
home. Refreshments will be served. Please sign up in the Activities or Sales Office.
Remember, every Friday morning at 9:00 am is the PARADE OF HOMES. We will tour throughout the resort looking at
a huge variety of resale homes available to purchase. Coffee and donuts will be served at 9:00 am. The tour will leave
at 9:30 am.
Our sales staff this year is awesome! Amber Moore is our Sales Coordinator, making sure all the sales transactions are
seamless. Judi Schwan and Judy Hebert, our sales associates, will help you to find your perfect home. Joyce Mowry
and Patti Erlandsen, receptionists, will answer all your questions or make you an appointment to view homes.
Thank you and hope to see you soon!

Guest Relations
Happy New Year!
We’re looking forward to our “mini city” expanding even more so in the next few weeks as the remainder of our winter visitors
head south! Please make sure that you check back in with Guest Services so we can get your name on the Gatehouse List, get
your badges updated, and start Sewer & Trash charges.
Please note that we are currently accepting same site reservations for our seasonal guests for the 2015-16 season. The forms can
be turned in to Guest Services any time and the $400 deposit must be paid by February 28, 2015. For those seasonal guests wishing to change sites, we will open that process beginning February 9, 2015. Your $400 deposit will be due at the time of the reservation. Please remember, the only way to absolutely guarantee your site year-to-year is to become an annual!
We have two improved lots currently available for those thinking about becoming annual residents. How does that work? Sign a
two-year annual agreement with the park, and at the end of the two years, the lot improvements are yours! Lot #460 and #947
are available. Swing by and take a look!
Speaking of annuals, please remember that everyone wishing to become an annual resident must fill out an application and be
approved to be a tenant at Palm Creek. Regardless if you’re buying a home through the Sales Office or privately, all prospective
buyers must be approved by Sun RV Resorts to become tenants at Palm Creek.
MAIL ROOM
Happy New Year! Welcome back to all our returning and new residents! Be sure to stop in to tell us you are here and open your
mail box.
We ask that you please be patient during our “Peak Season” as the mail and pink cards could be arriving late to boxes due to
quantity.
The Mail Room will be open from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on New Year’s Day. On January 19th, Martin Luther King Day, there will
be no mail delivery, but we will be open to serve you with other mail needs.
Regular Mail Room hours are 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday – Saturday. Please remember to wear your ID badges for any business in the Mail Room. You can contact us by phone: 520-876-8978 or email: [email protected]
RENTALS
Secure your home for next season!
Because the rental homes sold out so quickly over the springtime, we encourage those planning on staying for 3 months or longer
to come to the Rental Office and secure their home for the 2015/16 season. Stop by and see what types of homes and locations
are still available. And, please drop by Brittany’s office if you’re thinking about putting your home in the rental program. We still
have a wait-list for this winter!
Thank you!

Events & Activities
Here we are, right in the very heart of our season! I would like to acknowledge our volunteers who helped decorate our beautiful
Christmas trees and our Guest Services and Activities areas; it looked just awesome and I would like to thank you all
personally for all the work that you have done:
Susan Dahlen
Karen Mills
Shenye Rairdan
Jackie Teague
Lennie Weaver
Connie McKinnon
Donna Cummings
Our new building, the Prickly Pear, should be up and running by the middle of January. It will bigger and more spacious than our
other rooms. I would also like to thank all of our groups and clubs that have been so very patient with us during this period, I
know it has not been easy but once again it really says a lot about our residents, again Thank You!
Starting January 5th, Dog Agility will be on Mondays and Thursdays. Call Karen Rust for more information at Site #7644.
Please come in to the Activities Office and pick up our daily activity sheet. Due to all the last minute and current changes that we
are making, we feel it would be better if they did not go in the mail boxes as a stuffer. Our NPA shows begin this month, and
there are some truly incredible shows coming this season — starting with Dana Daniels!
We are looking forward to assisting you in any way that we can, so come in for information or just to say ‘Hi’. It’s always great to
see your friendly faces.
Mary Ann Brown
Hello Friends and Neighbors! I am very excited to assume responsibility for Special Events. I already know so many of you from
our recent events, and also by personal involvement in our activities as a fellow resident in our beautiful park.
2014 is now a memory, and many have just completed the first half of their season with us. Where did the time go? Hopefully it
was spent enjoying your favorite events and activities. Our calendar for the first three months of 2015 is already full, and here are
just a few January highlights:

Our Monday Morning Donuts and Coffee at the Fireside Patio at 8:00 am has been extremely popular, where you can
socialize, hear about upcoming events, and ask questions directly to key staff members.
• Be sure to attend the Welcome Home II event in Palm Park on January 10th. We’ve completely revamped the
entertainment and menu to the Heartbeat Band and pulled pork sandwiches with sides. Representatives from our clubs
will also be present to proudly feature their programs and answer any questions.
• The annual Fashion Show on January 22nd is always a hit with the ladies and will surely sell out again. If you are interested
in modeling, please stop by or call Activities.
Our staff is completely energized and committed to making your Special Events “special.” We’ll see you around the Park and at
our many events!

Palm Creek Tennis Center
Our 2nd Annual Tennis Club Open House is Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
at the Pavilion beside the tennis courts. Last year’s open house was a great success! Please
join us for lunch, laughter, and if you like, a chance to try your hand or brush up skills in this
great sport. We’ll have racquets, instructors on hand, ball machines and our brand-new ‘state
of the art’ backboard. The open house is for everyone—whether you have never played in
the past but would like to, you’ve played before and want to get back in the game, or even if
you don’t know anything about tennis at all! Plenty of free food and fun to go around too, so
come out and join us!
Softball Association
Softball practices are held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:00 am. When you are available, we recommend you attend practices so that you can be placed on a team commensurate
with your skill level. There are 2 divisions: Fall (November through mid-December) and Winter
(January through 1st week of March). Each division is designed to accommodate player levels, and
no one is ever denied participation. We currently field three teams in the fall and five teams in the
winter; games are played every Tuesday and Thursday. For more information or to sign up, call JD
at #6125 or email [email protected].
Beginning and Rusty Golfers
Introducing a NEW program just for you! Need some help learning this wonderful game, or you
simply want to brush up on your skills? Play 9 holes with one of our more experienced golfers —
they can give you tips on how to play and explain golf etiquette. We meet every Wednesday at
3:30 pm beginning January 14th, 2015. Please sign up at the Pro Shop!
Palm Creek Silver Sliders
The Palm Creek Silver Sliders Ladies Softball Team, in conjunction with the Palm Creek Men’s
65+ Team, is hosting their first ever Ladies Softball Tournament in the Park on January 30, 2015
and February 1, 2015! We are very excited, and look forward to showing off our beautiful
“Home Away From Home” to some of our teammates from Canada who are flying down to join
the fun! There will be 5 ladies and 5 men’s teams
competing in this first tournament —
showcasing a little “Sugar and Spice and everything
nice”, and a whole lot of “Snakes and Snails and
Puppy dog tails”.
Sorry , boys...you know we love ya!
We hope to see all of our Palm Creek friends and
neighbors come out and cheer us on! We will
gratefully accept all the encouragement we can get!

FROM THE BISTRO
You know the saying: “Time flies when you’re having fun”. Well, it has — and we are! It’s
always such a pleasure to welcome returning residents and meet new people coming to
Palm Creek, especially with good food and conversation.
Come visit us in the Bistro and find out about our delicious and creative daily specials. We
encourage you to take one of our menus home with you, and if you’re up at the
Administration Building, stop in and have lunch. In the mornings, we welcome the “men’s
club” - a group of guys that let their wives sleep while they get out of the house and have
coffee together. We offer several breakfast ‘quick heat’ items to fill the belly and charge
you up, plus gluten-free options that are great ways to start the day.
Marilyn Goeken
Food Service Manager
Remember, we began our clam chowder special and will be serving it every Friday: the
meal is $7.00 per person, which includes a hearty bread bowl. If you choose, you can also
have the bread on the side. We also have Chicken Tortilla Soup every Tuesday, beginning
January 6 at $6.00 per person.
PATIO LUNCHES
We serve lunch on the Main Patio most Wednesdays from 11:30am to 1:00pm. Lunch is
$8.50 per person, or $7.75 with Annual badge, which includes the
main item, chips, dessert and Arnold Palmer. Please come and join
us for an afternoon!

The Sports Grill
Congratulations to the winners of the Fall Softball Finals! We have had such a good time watching them play, and
look forward to the winter season starting on January 6th! Lots of action going on the ballfield; our softball tournament is January 16th—18th, while the 65+ league will have their tournament January 30th and 31st. Plus, we can’t
forget the mighty Silver Sliders, who will be with us all day on January 30th. It’s a great month of softball down at
the field, with great food at the Grill to go along with it, so we hope to see you in the cheering section soon!
I am pleased to introduce two of our staff at the Sports Grill—Bob and Sherian Fahrenbruch. Bob and Sherian have
lived in Palm Creek for 10 years. They have been married for 54 years and are originally from Colorado where they
raised their two children — and from whom they now proudly boast four grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren on the way!
Bob was raised on a farm, continuing in that profession for almost a decade after he and Sherian were married.
Then he went into a successful, 22-year career as a communications executive before his retirement. Sherian
worked for Hewlett-Packard for nearly 30 years; once ‘retired’, however, neither could just simply stay home and
be idle. Both went to work for Banner Health for a few years afterward.
Bob and Sherian love going on motorcycle trips every chance they can; Bob loves woodworking, photography,
stained glass work and cooking. Sherian enjoys beading, wrap jewelry, and stained glass work as well.
We’re really happy to have two such amazing and interesting people on our team and working with us every day.
Hours of Operation:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
10:00 am—2:00 pm

YOU ASKED...WE LISTENED!
Q: Is there a place we can bring, or arrange to bring, our personal fire extinguishers to one location and have them
filled and/or checked? Or should we buy new ones?
A: From Jim Dawson, Director of Facilities - “Typically, fire extinguishers purchased for home use are nonrefillable. If the extinguisher’s arrow is not in the green zone of the gauge, it should be tossed and replaced.”
Q: The Ballroom floor is sticky, which may create a safety problem during events and parties.
A: We ordered a special dance floor wax, which will arrive and be used on all the Ballroom floors before our big
New Years bash. Thanks for letting us know!
Q: Is there a directory of frequently used telephone numbers available, like Maintenance, Emergency, Activities, etc.
that we can use?
A: There is indeed a directory in the “Welcome Home “ magazine available at Guest Services, which is available to
everyone at any time. However, we realize that most residents often carry The Happenings around with them, so
we’ve also added a key numbers directory on page 22. Thank you for the suggestion!
Have a question for our staff? Send it to [email protected], and we’ll do our best
to find your answers!

In Memoriam
Please join me to celebrate the life of my husband, Joseph Beebe on
January 4, 2015 between 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. in the San Tan Room. Our Palm
Creek winter residence since 2005 has given us many friends and wonderful
memories here at Palm Creek. In Joe’s last year of life, he started going to
the Wood Shop here at the park and fell in love with woodturning. In his
memory, I have established a memorial fund to purchase equipment for the
Palm Creek Wood Shop. Thank you for all the love and support you have
shown me since Joe’s passing on October 17th.

Casa Grande Street Fair and Car Show
The 15th Annual Casa Grande Street Fair/Car & Bike Show will be held on
Saturday and Sunday, January 17th & 18th. Volunteers are much appreciated for help in the booths, with patrons, and organizational tasks. For more
information, or to sign up and participate, call Chuck Simnette at 520-4143744.
Palo Verde Elementary School Holiday Fundraiser
Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful Palm Creek residents and staff,
we were able to present Palo Verde Elementary School with over $600 in
supplies, clothing, and funds to help build a sunshade for the children’s
playground. Phyllis Beebe presented Principal Joanne Kramer with the
check just before the holidays. Thank you to each and every one of you
who took time to donate. Our residents are truly the best people and the
best neighbors!
