Updated 1/2015 5|Page REGISTERED NURSING ASSOCIATE TO BACHELOR’S (ATB) NURSING DEGREE OPTION ATB OPTIONS AT A GLANCE Overview: The Institute of Medicine recommends increasing the proportion of nurses with a baccalaureate degree to 80 percent by 2020. In response, CCBC Nursing has initiated a cost effective, dual enrollment ATB Nursing Degree Option to help meet this goal. Designed for qualified Associate Degree Nursing Students, the option provides an opportunity to begin coursework for the B.S. degree at one participating university while enrolled in the CCBC A.S. Degree Nursing Program. This reduces time for completion of the B.S. degree to approximately two to three additional terms following completion of the A.S. degree. Initially developed by CCBC and Towson University, the ATB Nursing Degree Option has expanded to include three* additional universities. Collaborating Universities: Each university participating in the option has a strong, accredited nursing program that is widely respected in the health care field. Prospective ATB students are encouraged to review more specific information sheets^ or speak with a CCBC Nursing Advisor about each program of study and its related requirements. Interested, qualified students should select the ATB option(s) and apply** to the university(ies) that is(are) the best fit for their personal, educational, and professional goals. *waiting on signed MOU to publish exact curriculum plans CCBC - University Dual Enrollment ATB Options FSU - An Online Option Participating Universities Mode/place of university course delivery FSU coursework entirely online.
