January 2015
Meeting:
The next chapter meeting will be held January 28, 2015 at Council 9868 at St. Andrew Catholic Church.
The address is 3717 Stadium Drive Ft. Worth, TX 76109 in the church community center. Meal will be
served at 6:30-7:30. Meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m.
President’s Corner
Greetings to all my Brother Knights,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
The December minutes are attached to this newsletter for review by the membership. Please look at
these important pieces of information and review the council reports to help with ideas that may improve
your council’s activities.
If you have an important event coming up in the future more than a month, print up a flyer or memo that
you can pass out to everyone and then only mention it to the membership and they can read the handout.
You can also post your events on the chapter website or contact SK Bill Tillotson, the webmaster, and
he will help you get that done. It will reach a much larger audience that way.
2014 is behind us and we’re going into the second half of our Fraternal year in 2015. The councils in our
diocese are doing well, but facing a few challenges that I know our leadership will overcome. As I have
heard many times the remark that has been made at Supreme is “As Texas goes, so goes the Order.” And
also “As Ft. Worth goes, so goes the State.” We have a great responsibility to reputation to uphold and
I’m very confident that we will do that as always.
I pray that everyone is well and your holidays were filled with love and happiness. May God Bless our
Order!
Please encourage your council membership to attend the Chapter Meetings.
God bless you and your families.

Texas Rally for Life on Saturday, January 24, at the Capitol in Austin.
Join thousands at the Texas Rally for Life on Saturday, January 24, at the Capitol in
Austin. Show the media and our elected officials that Texas is PRO-LIFE! The
2015 Texas Rally for Life will commemorate the 42nd anniversary of the tragic
Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision in 1973, which made abortion legal
throughout all nine months of pregnancy. In the wake of Roe, legal abortion in our
nation has claimed the lives of more than 57 million unborn children and has hurt
countless women and men.
The Rally will feature pro-life speakers and leaders from across the state.
Your presence will reaffirm recent pro-life gains, including passage of House Bill
2; the passage and upholding of the Sonogram Bill, the strongest in the nation; the
defunding of Planned Parenthood $29 of $31 million per year; and the creation of
the Choose Life license plate to promote infant adoption.
Also, you will help promote other greatly needed pro-life bills in the Texas
Legislature, including a bill to increase the right of parents to protect their minor
daughters from abortion by reforming the judicial bypass and bills to prevent
forced abortions.
Plan to attend. Organize a bus or carpool of people from your church, youth group,
or local pro-life organization. Individual signs will be provided, but bring a banner
from your church, youth group, or pro-life organization.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Keller will have 2 or more buses leaving our north
parking lot on January 24th at 7 AM. Advance reservations are required by
notification to SK Tim Johnson, email [email protected], This is well
attended, make your reservations asap as seating is limited.

The National Catholic Bioethics Center (NCBC) meets bi-annually in February in Dallas, Texas. The
NCBC has selected Dallas for their 2015 Bishop’s Workshop to be held on February 2 nd, 2015 through
February 4th, 2015. The workshop will be held at the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Las Colinas, Texas. The
address for the hotel is 221 East Las Colinas Boulevard in Irving, Texas. The Knights of Columbus in
the Dallas and Fort Worth Dioceses have been coordinating the transportation for this Workshop for
many years. The workshop will involve as many as 200 Bishops from the United States, Mexico,
Central America, South America and the Caribbean.
Drivers are needed to transport the Bishops, Archbishops, Cardinals and other dignitaries between the
airport and the hotel. The majority of the drivers are needed on Monday, February 2nd, 2015. Drivers
are also needed to assist in the return transportation on Wednesday, February 4th, 2015 and Thursday,
February 5th, 2015.
If the driver has a van or SUV, please indicate that online at www.bpup.us as well as the number of
passengers each driver can accommodate.
Please register online at www.bpup.us no later than January 12th, 2015. Driver assignments will be sent
to you no later than January, 26th, 2015.
Your kind assistance and willingness to help is sincerely appreciated.
If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] or Grant Beagles at
[email protected].
Once again, thank you for volunteering in this worthy effort.
