TRIP INFORMATION & DISCLAIMER
• Trips are planned with our residents in mind! We scour the area for some of the most
fun &/or interesting places, attempt to get it for you at the very best price and provide transportation for you—not bad, huh?
• The trips are targeted for all adults, but we do take added care to make sure there is
limited walking and stair climbing when possible (specifically noted when difficulties might be
present).
• Trip itineraries are subject to change without notice. Every effort will be made to keep
as close to schedule as possible. Trip times are our best approximation and may include
“surprise “ stops. Please roll with it.
• Watch Deadlines! Registration deadlines usually reflect when we have to commit to purchasing tickets. Without your commitment, we have to cancel trips. To avoid disappointment
(ours and yours!), please register by the stated deadlines.
EVENT REGISTRATION
• Resident registration begins when the Leisure Forum/quarter newsletter is received.
• Registration must be in person or by mail and payment in full is required at the time of registration unless otherwise noted. Please note: there is no phone registration or “holding”
spots
• Non-resident registration date is listed in the city newsletter and are subject to pay an additional $4 per trip/activity, as of 2/1/2013.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
• In the event a trip does not require the purchase of tickets, 48 hour notice of cancellation
is required in order to receive a refund. For trips
involving tickets, no refunds will be given for cancellation once the tickets have been purchased,
• unless a replacement is found. Please inquire at the
time you are requesting to cancel whether you will
receive a refund.
• A $5 service fee is retained on all refunds due to trip
withdrawal.
• Cancellations/withdrawals will be given a household
credit. Specific request must be made for a refund in
the form of a check. Allow 3 weeks for all refunds in
the form of a check to be processed.

3 & UP/LUNCH IN PLYMOUTH
Friday, February 13, 10:20 am - 3:00 pm
A husband-wife team opened a board game lounge in downtown Plymouth with over 1000 board
games. Board game lounges aren’t something new to this world. There are board game lounges
in Australia, New Zealand, Toronto and even a few board game lounges in the United States, but
this is the first one in this region. Exercise your brain and enjoy a new experience! Michigan
snacks and beverages for sale. Next up, lunch (on your own) at Nico & Vali Italian Eatery, a small
family-owned restaurant with incredible food and a charming atmosphere. Sign up by 2/6/2015.

WINTER DINNER OUT: GIOVANNI’S RISTORANTE
Tuesday, February 17, 4:30 - 7:00 pm
By popular demand, we are headed back to Giovannis. Giovanni’s has Italian cuisine in an atmosphere reminiscent of the old world charm where friends and family gather to enjoy more than
just a meal. The homemade pastas, the prime cuts of meat, the fresh fish and farm grown vegetables are carefully prepared to preserve a distinctive flavor of the finest regions. You wouldn’t
think that behind all that chugging industrial mess just outside Southwest Detroit you would
find the best Italian food in the city. Ask the owner, Frances and she will tell you about Sinatra
and some of others that have broke bread at Giovannis. A real favorite! Registration deadline:
2.19.15.
#330115-00 Cost: $10, includes transportation and supervision, dinner on your own.

WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?
AT THE VILLAGE PLAYERS
Wednesday, March 4, 8:00 pm performance
Fun and games begin when tenured-professor George and his wife Martha welcome a
young ambitious professor new to campus and his wife, over for after-party drinks. Using wit, word-play and free-flowing cocktails, the hosts take turns humiliating each other
as entertainment for their bewildered guests. As more drinks are poured, it’s the guests’
turn in the cross-hairs, coerced to share core secrets. Albee’s classic play is a brutally
comic love story that explodes notions of commitment and self-delusion in a loving relationship. Must call 248.541-3030 to reserve. Pick up is the Tuesday, March 3.

THE FORD PIQUETTE AVENUE PLANT
Thursday, April 2, 11:00 am - 3:30 pm
It might look old-fashioned now, but in 1908 the Model T was
revolutionary. Inexpensive, light weight, durable, and easy to drive
and repair, it was a great value for ordinary families. It quickly
became the most popular car on the planet. The Model T changed not only what we drove then,
but how we live today. And it was conceived, developed, and built right here.
Today, you can visit the birthplace of the Model T. The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is again open
and evolving into a symbol of Detroit’s ability to invent, innovate, and rebound. Walk the plank
floors worn smooth by hundreds of workers and thousands of cars. See Henry Ford’s competition, his early successes and false starts. Learn how volunteers saved one of the world’s most
significant industrial buildings and support the ongoing restoration and education projects in the
mechanical heart of Detroit.
Afterwards (of course), lunch on your own at a one of Detroit’s hot spots! (TBA)
