The Grizzlies’ 22-game regular season home winning streak was the longest such streak by an NBA team since Denver won 23-straight from Jan. 20-April 17, 2013. 2014-15 GRIZZLIES PLAYER QUICK FACTS ALL-HEART, ALL-MEMPHIS, ALL-STAR: Marc Gasol has been voted by the fans to the Western Conference starting lineup for the 2015 NBA All-Star Game, marking his second career All-Star selection (2012) and his first as a starter… This is the fifth time a Grizzlies player has been named to the All-Star Game (Zach Randolph in 2010 and 2013, Marc Gasol in 2012, Pau Gasol in 2006) and first time a Grizzlies player will start in an All-Star Game. Marc Gasol likely will face off with his older brother – and former Grizzlies forward – Pau Gasol of the Chicago Bulls in the opening tip-off at the 2015 All-Star Game… The Gasols are the first pair of brothers in NBA history to start in an All-Star Game and the second duo to ever play in the same All-Star Game, joining Tom and Dick Van Arsdale in 1970 and 1971. Marc Gasol has posted four 30+ point performances this season after tallying just one 30+ point effort in 436 games spanning his first six NBA seasons… Gasol poured in a career-high 32 points on Oct. 29 vs. Minnesota and then recorded his first back-to-back 30+ point games with a career-high tying 32 points on Nov. 21 vs. Boston and 30 points on Nov. 23 vs. LA Clippers. Zach Randolph was named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week after leading Memphis to a 4-0 record and averaging 20.5 points, 13.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists for the week ending Feb. 1… It marked Randolph’s fourth Player of the Week award with the Grizzlies (and fourth in his career), surpassing Pau Gasol for the most weekly honors in franchise history. Zach Randolph passed Pau Gasol (4,096 rebounds) as the Grizzlies franchise career leader for total rebounds on Jan. 17 vs. Portland. Zach Randolph ranks second in the NBA in second chance points per game (4.6) and ranks 12th in points in the paint per game (10.3). Named Western Conference Coach of the Month for January 2014, April 2014 and October/November 2014, becoming the fourth-youngest person to be named NBA Coach of the Month three times. Guided Memphis to franchise-record fourth consecutive postseason berth in first season as head coach. Clinched the best record of any of 10 first-year NBA head coaches during the 2013-14 season, a list that included Jeff Hornacek, Jason Kidd and Brad Stevens. Memphis won 12+ games in multiple calendar months in a single season (12 in January 2014 and March 2014) for the first time in franchise history and tied the franchise record for wins in a calendar month (13) in November 2014. Earned his first career NBA head coaching victory in the Grizzlies’ home-opening overtime win on Nov. 1, 2013 vs. Detroit. BIOGRAPHY One of the most successful minor league head coaches of all-time, Dave Joerger was named the 12th head coach in Memphis Grizzlies history on June 27, 2013. Backed by five championships in seven years as a head coach on the minor league level and six years as an assistant coach on the Grizzlies’ sidelines, Joerger has helped orchestrate the Grizzlies’ greatest successes in both the regular season and the postseason. Memphis set franchise records for regular season winning percentage and recorded second-place finishes in the Southwest Division, club bests, in each of the past two seasons, both of which Joerger served as the lead assistant. The Grizzlies made three consecutive playoff appearances from 2011-13, upsetting the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs in the opening round of the 2011 Playoffs, the team’s first playoff series victory, and advancing to the 2013 Western Conference Finals two years later. The success continued with Joerger at the helm as he guided Memphis to a 50-32 record, the third 50-win campaign in club history, and a franchise-record fourth consecutive playoff appearance. Joerger posted the best record among the NBA’s 10 first-year head coaches last season while tying Hubie Brown (2003-04) for the most wins in Grizzlies franchise history by a head coach in his first full campaign. Since his initial hire prior to the 2007-08 season, Joerger has shaped the Grizzlies’ identity into an NBA-best defensive unit that led the league in points allowed (89.3) during the 2012-13 season. Memphis paced the Western Conference in points allowed per game (94.6) for the third consecutive season in Joerger’s first season as head coach. Joerger earned Western Conference Coach of the Month honors for January as the Grizzlies went a league-best 12-3 during the month while leading the league in fewest points allowed (91.3). Memphis again won 12 games in March, marking the first time in franchise history that the team had two 12-win calendar months during the same season. Joerger was again named Western Conference Coach of the Month in April after Memphis went 6-2 during the month and finished the season on a five-game winning streak while clinching their playoff berth. Before earning his first NBA assistant coaching job with the Grizzlies, Joerger gained fame as head coach of the 2007 NBA Development League Champion Dakota Wizards. Dakota’s 2007 championship marked Joerger’s fifth as a head coach after winning one International Basketball Association (IBA) title and three more in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). Joerger owns two CBA Coach of the Year Awards (2002, 2004) and a head coaching record of 232-117 (.665) in the minor leagues. After finishing his playing career at Moorhead State, Joerger got his start as Dakota’s general manager when the franchise was a member of the IBA. He received his first opportunity on the sidelines as an assistant coach during the 1997-98 season. After three years as an assistant, Joerger succeeded Duane Ticknor (now a Grizzlies assistant) as head coach and led the Wizards to the 2001 IBA Championship. The Wizards moved to the CBA the following season, where Joerger led them to CBA titles in 2002 and 2004. During the summer of 2004, Joerger became head coach of the Sioux Falls Skyforce and proceeded to win the 2005 CBA Championship, his fourth title in five years, giving him more minor league championships than other notable minor-league-turned-NBA head coaches Phil Jackson, George Karl, Flip Saunders and Eric Musselman combined. Joerger returned to Dakota, now in the D-League, in 2006 and guided the Wizards to a league-best 33-17 record (.660) before winning his second championship with the organization. An excellent teacher of the game, Joerger had 18 of his players called up to the NBA from 2003-07. Joerger and his wife, Kara, are the parents of two daughters, Alli and Kiana. Very active in the Memphis community, Joerger participates in Grizzlies team events supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and sits on the board for National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL). His family is a member of First United Methodist Church. 2014-15 Memphis Grizzlies Game Notes 11 #3 JORDAN ADAMS LAST FIVE GAMES Date/Opp 1/27 @ DAL 1/29 vs DEN 1/31 vs OKC 2/2 @ PHO 2/4 @ UTA GUARD Height: 6-5 MIN FG FGA 10 2 3 12 0 3 1 0 0 DNP (Coach’s Decision) Inactive (Sore left ankle) Weight: 209 DOB: 7/8/1994 FG% 0.667 0.000 0.000 3FGA 1 1 0 3FG 1 0 0 Prior to NBA: UCLA 3FG% 1.000 0.000 0.000 FT 0 0 0 FTA 0 0 0 FT% 0.000 0.000 0.000 Home Country: USA ORB 0 1 0 DRB 1 1 0 REB 1 2 0 AST 0 1 0 PF 2 1 0 NBA Years Exp.: R STL 1 1 0 TO 1 2 0 BLK 0 2 0 PTS 5 0 0 2014-15 SEASON AVERAGES GP/S 14/0 PPG 2.4 RPG 0.8 APG 0.5 FG% .414 STL 0.43 MIN 7.1 NBA D-LEAGUE (IOWA) GP/S 10/1 PPG 19.5 RPG 7.0 APG 1.7 FG% .483 STL 1.90 MIN 32.8 HIGHS PTS FGM 3FGM FTM REB AST STL MIN 2014-15 SEASON: Made his NBA debut on Nov. 3 vs. New Orleans… Scored a career-high 12 points in just six minutes on Jan. 3 at Denver… DNP (Coach’s Decision) 18 games from Oct. 29-Nov. 1, Nov. 5-7, Nov. 11-15, Dec. 9, Dec. 26-27, Jan. 2, Jan. 7, Jan. 11, Jan. 16-17, Jan. 26, Feb. 2… Inactive 14 games on Nov. 8, Nov. 26-Dec. 7 and Dec. 12-19, Jan. 21-24 due to D-League assignments… Inactive two games on Nov. 23 and Jan. 9… Inactive one game on Feb. 4 at Utah due to a sore left ankle.
