Welcome! Offering You a World of Ideas, Information, Tips and Contacts… January 31 - February 3 Hyatt Regency Long Beach Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center Long Beach, CA Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau MariTrends 2015 Letter from the President Dear PVA Member: On behalf of the Officers and Board of Directors of the Passenger Vessel Association please accept my welcome to the PVA Annual Convention at MariTrends 2015 in Long Beach! A variety of informative educational sessions and special events await you at this year’s convention. Each session, seminar, roundtable and special event offers you a “world of ideas, information, tips and contacts” tailored specifically for the passenger vessel industry. Plus, we have enlisted the very best representatives from business and industry to share their knowledge and expertise with you. To add strength to an already impressive program, this year a PVA Marketing Program Committee worked very hard to bring to you a broad array of marketing sessions and presentations intended to give you information that you can use in your company’s marketing. As you know, the MariTrends 2015 Exhibit Hall, located in the excellent Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, is the “gathering place” for our convention and I encourage you to take advantage of all that is presented there by our loyal and knowledgeable MariTrends 2015 exhibitors. I encourage you also to take advantage of the Industry Specific Conferences scheduled throughout the convention – the Dinner Boat Conference, the Ferry Conference, the New Technology Conference and the Green Waters Conference. In addition, casual “Lunch and Learn” roundtable discussions will be held on Monday, February 2, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., during the MariTrends 2015 Exhibit Hall Lunch. These roundtables are small, informal gatherings of PVA members to discuss important issues of the day. Also scheduled on Monday, February 2 from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. will be the spectacular Meet and Greet the Fleet event to be held at Rainbow Harbor, which is adjacent to the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. This event involves vessels, owners and suppliers who will welcome you aboard their vessels and give you instructive tours and briefings. This year’s President’s Closing Dinner and Awards Ceremony, scheduled Tuesday, February 3, 4:30 p.m.9:00 p.m., will be an event that you do not want to miss. This enjoyable closing dinner event will be held at the legendary Avalon Casino on Catalina Island. The Casino was built in 1929 by William Wrigley. We will be whisked to Catalina Island aboard a comfortable, high speed Catalina Express vessel. This outstanding convention is the result of the hard work of our members and I would like to personally thank Greg Bombard and Ray Lyman of Catalina Express, San Pedro, CA and Joe Hudspeth, All-American Marine, Bellingham, WA for all of their efforts in making this convention program so spectacular. Also, thanks must go to Rob McMahon, Pinnacle Marine, Inc., La Crosse, WI for his work on the Passenger Vessel Foundation fundraising events. Thank you very much for attending the PVA Annual Convention at MariTrends 2015. I am confident that you will be pleased that you have chosen to attend. While you are here, please let me or any PVA staff member know if there is something that we can do for you to make your convention a complete success.
