ni-msme - the premier Institute About CDC Consultancy Development Centre (CDC) is an autonomous Institution of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) of Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, working towards promoting and strengthening consultancy skills and capabilities including export of services and process cooperation with other countries. CDC is also the nodal agency in the Asia Pacific region for the Technical Consultancy Development Programme for Asia and the Pacific (TCDPAP) a programme promoted by the United Nation Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). About ni-msme ni-msme is a pioneer institute was set up in 1960 under the aegis of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India with the mandate to play a pivotal role in the promotion of MSMEs. Our activities encompass training, research, consultancy, information, education and extension, which are extended beyond the Indian shores touching the developing countries of almost all the continents. Branding and advertising in digital space facilitates the businesses with better access to mass markets at an affordable cost at the same time equip them to do marketing in a personalised way. The flexibility and cost-effectives offered by digital space makes it more appropriate for MSMEs. However, despite the argued use of internet there has been little evidence on extensive use of internet. Additionally, lack of skills and know-how for brand identity design or running an e-campaign (advertisement) in an effective fashion is well evident. Furthermore, amid the lack of expertise the amount of return entrepreneurs would be able to get by adopting branding and advertising in digital media space creates more suspicion in the mind of MSMEs/entrepreneurs about the relevance and efficacy of these tools for MSMEs. Therefore, more awareness, training and debates are required on this issue. In this context, ni-msme with its vast experience in supporting the MSME sector proposes to organise one day workshop titled “Branding and Advertising th Development for MSMEs” on 30 January, 2015. The workshop has been designed keeping in ni-msme’s experience in understanding the importance of branding and advertising development and the necessity of its adaption by entrepreneurs in present context. Objectives of the workshop The workshop aims at exposing the participants with different issues surrounding branding and advertising development by: Branding and advertising development in digital media and MSME management – Need for synergy Managing identity in virtual space – tools, techniques and application (Website design, SEO, SEM) Advertising and promotion tools in virtual space (Youtube, LinkedIn, Facebook, blog, etc.) Evaluating the e-marketing success - Google analytics For whom Existing and prospective entrepreneurs Consultants, Government officials and institutions engaged in implementation of various marketing related schemes College students and unemployed youths Pedagogy Each of the technical session will have a panel of speakers lead by a key note speaker who will set the tone of the session. Case studies of successful organisation in branding and advertising implementation will be presented. Tools and techniques for managing brand identity and advertisement in virtual space like website, blog, social media, You tube, LinkedIn, e-campaign design for SMEs, etc., will be discussed.
