Mae’r Ganolfan ar safle godidog, wedi’i gosod mewn dros gan acer o lynnoedd, gerddi a choetir, ac yn agos iawn i fynyddoedd, rhostiroedd, gwlyptiroedd, coedlannau a thraethau a thwyni arfordirol. Course tutors may include local and international specialists in addition to staff from the Centre and other departments of the National Park. Comfortable accommodation can be provided for 60 people in single and twin bedrooms. Two rail stations, Blaenau Ffestiniog and Penrhyndeudraeth, are within four miles of the Centre and the interconnecting Ffestiniog Railway has a request stop at Plas Halt in the grounds. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the drive. It may be possible, by prior arrangement, to meet those using public transport. Plas Tan y Bwlch was established in 1975 as the Snowdonia National Park Study Centre. The Centre occupies a superb position set in over 100 acres of lakes, gardens and woodlands. Within easy reach are examples of mountain, moorland, wetland, estuarine and aquatic habitats, upland and lowland farmland, and a range of woodlands as well as cliffs, beaches and dunes of the coastal zone. This incomparable range of habitats provides the setting for many aspects of the Centre’s professional training programme. Excellent facilities for professional training courses are provided, including a lecture theatre, lecture and seminar rooms, a reference and resources library, NEW FOR 2015 In 2015 the Centre will be offering an extensive programme of National Parks & Well Being courses. AIMS: To challenge countryside professionals to deliver access to all their facilities and services for disabled people. To provide practical guidance in overcoming physical and other barriers and to ensure that countryside service providers are fully aware of their duties and responsibility towards people with disabilities. COURSE OBJECTIVES: •Understand the practical, service and management implications of the Disability Discrimination Act 2010, including the Disability Equality Duty, and its links to Countryside and Rights of Way legislation (CROW etc). •Improve knowledge and understanding of the issues concerning disabled people visiting and enjoying the countryside and explore ideas of how to get your message across to groups who are currently socially excluded from accessing the countryside. •Develop access survey and audit skills and processes for such information to add value for service providers and countryside users. •Develop further knowledge and skills in the use of “health check” tools for the review of policies, practices and procedures on their sites. •Develop confidence and understanding to the approach to access for people with disabilities and become aware of good practice examples of accessible facilities and services. COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course will show you the principles of planning great interpretation and successful marketing, and you use them to support your organisation. OBJECTIVES: •To know how to develop audiences through marketing, and how to develop interpretation that will satisfy and interest them. •To help you make realistic, practical plans to interpret and market your site or collection. •To understand what motivates visitors to heritage sites. •To look at the potential of new media and social networking, and how they can be integrated with traditional techniques. •To discuss your needs with two of the UK’s leading experts on visitor experience and interpretation. FOR WHOM?: Staff working for heritage sites, country parks, museums and nature reserves who are responsible for marketing and interpretation.
