Annual Second Collection
February 15th Peter’s Pence
The Peter’s Pence Collection unites us in
solidarity to the Holy Father and his works of
charity to those in need. In his address of March
20, 2013, Pope Francis spoke of our responsibility
before the world and creation. “There is much
that we can do to benefit the poor, the needy, and
those who suffer; and to favor justice, promote
reconciliation, and build peace,” he said. Your
contributions to the Peter’s Pence Collection
allow the Holy Father to support victims of war,
natural disasters, and others most in need of
assistance.

RESPECT LIFE
Did you know that there are essentially four “life
issues” in the Catechism – abortion, stem cell research,
euthanasia and capital punishment? The Church’s
teachings on these issues are based on the Fifth
Commandment – “Thou Shall Not Kill”. This
reflects the Church’s teachings that each human life is
sacred. A new human life begins at the moment of
conception. Within 18 – 24 days after conception its
heart starts beating. Did you know that only the U.S.,
Canada, China and North Korea permit unrestricted
legal abortions during all nine months of pregnancy?
The search begins for the Longest Married couple in
the Archdiocese of New York! To enter:
