Spotlight on Careers @ Dean’s Coffee: Spring 2015
This semester at Dean’s Coffee we will be highlighting career opportunities. We have invited BC
seniors who have interned in the industry and BC alums who currently work in the field. Drop by
Dean’s Coffee to learn from people who were in your shoes once wondering “what options are
available after graduation?” The schedule for this semester: February 11th Sales & Trading,

The EY Peer Advisors are seniors in the Carroll School who hold drop-in hours in the Fulton Honors
Common. Come by to get advice on your schedule, studying abroad, the internship search, and

EAGLE Summer Internship Stipend Program
Have you received an offer to do a great unpaid internship this upcoming summer? Would you like
to receive funding for your internship? The EAGLE (Explore-Assess-Grow-LearnExperience) Summer Internship Stipend Program is your opportunity to get paid for your
career-related experience. Applications are now open and will close on Monday, March 30th. For

Early Decision Deadline to Apply: Sunday, March 1 at 11:59pm
Students will be notified if awarded the stipend by Friday, March 20
Student applications not selected to receive the stipend for the Early Decision will be
considered again for the the Regular Decision deadline.

Freshmen, if you have not done so yet, this semester is a good time to start working on your
resume. A resume is a work in progress, always changing with each semester's grades,
coursework, leadership or work experience.

‘Let’s Get Ready’ Volunteer Opportunity
February 10 – April 30, Tuesdays OR Thursdays 3 pm – 6 pm at Brighton High School, 25
Warren St., Brighton, MA
Want to help high school students get into college? Volunteer with Let’s Get Ready one night a
week. The non-profit is dedicated to helping low-income high school students prepare for the
SATs and get into college. Volunteers assist in SAT prep, the college application process, and
provide financial aid overviews. BC's branch of Let's Get Ready, through the BC Office of
Governmental & Community Affairs, runs an after-school program at Brighton High School. There
are opportunities for BC students to volunteer as Math or Verbal SAT Coaches. For more

Get involved with BC Splash
The Splash program offers hundreds of high school students an opportunity to visit BC’s campus
for a day and attend courses created and taught by BC students. BC students can teach Splash
classes on anything they’re passionate about. Past classes include “PhiLOSTophy”, “Med School
Declassified!”, “Healthy and Nutritious, Magically Delicious!” and many more! Teach by yourself or
with friends!

There’s no limit to what BC students can teach! Teacher registration is open from January

Quantopian Open Hackathon
The Quantopian Open is an algorithmic paper trading competition. If you win, your stock trading
algorithm will manage $100,000 of our money and you keep 100% of the profits. First
submission deadline is February 2 on a monthly rolling basis.
We're hosting open office hours from 4:00 – 11:00 pm on January 29. Drop in anytime to start
an entry, polish up your code, or talk shop with Quantopian staff, quantitative finance experts,
technology leaders, and your fellow algorithm writers. Pizza and beer will be served, and it's open
