A Message From Our Pastor For The Interim
This Sunday, Tabernacle will be honored to participate in the dedication of one of our families’ babies, Aria Rose
Epolito, daughter of Jimmy and Juliana Epolito. This event is three-fold… the child is dedicated to the Lord, the parents
are dedicating themselves to bring up the child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and we, the church at large, are
dedicating ourselves to be the church that will provide support to this family . The old adage that “it takes a village to
raise a child” is true. It takes every one of us in the church to provide the nurture and care this child will need to grow
spiritually. The parents will need all the encouragement and support we can give them as they seek God’s direction in
raising their child.
Several years ago, my oldest grandson, Caleb, called to give me an early Christmas gift…he began quoting the 2nd
chapter of Luke which is the favorite scripture about the birth of Jesus. He quoted the entire chapter verbatim, speaking
as if he where narrating the event. I was so impressed, and immediately remembered how we had dedicated his dad, our
first-born, to the Lord many years ago. And now Clint was teaching Caleb to hide God’s words in his heart. The Old
Testament book of Proverbs tells us to train up our children in the ways of the Lord so that when they are old, they will
not depart from these teachings. Now, this promise has come full circle in our family as my parents dedicated me to the
Lord, my son was dedicated to the Lord, and now my grandson. Three generations of dedicating children to the service
of the Lord. All three generations love the Word of God and honor and glorify the Lord. Now we as a church, get to
enter into this promise with this young family.
Last week, we talked about the second part of the Acts 29 church formula (SP+TP+SM=PR) “Transformed People”.
We talked about the enormous effect that the born-again, spirit-filled believers have on the church and the world. We
are the containers of the Spirit of God. We hold within us the fullness of the Creator God. We are His to direct and
guide. Releasing ourselves to His control, we are enabled to share the dynamic yet “Simple Message”, which is “Jesus
Saves”.
I look forward to the worship hour this week when we will delve into God’s word to find how God unleashes his
Power whenever the obedient believer shares the message of how Jesus changes lives.
Be prayerful about the worship and come anticipating the blessings of God and expecting Him to be present and do
what only He can do.
Your Pastor for the Interim,
Glenn Dyer
