Gathering Hymn: The Church’s One Foundation; AURELIA
Gloria: The Glendalough Mass; L. Lawton
1) We praise you, we bless, you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you
thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.
2) Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the
Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the
sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
3) For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the
Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father.
Amen.
1 Samuel 3:3b-10, 19
A reading from the first
Book of Samuel:
Samuel was sleeping in the
temple of the LORD where
the ark of God was. The
LORD called to Samuel,
who answered, "Here I
am." Samuel ran to Eli
and said, "Here I am. You
called me." "I did not call
you," Eli said. "Go back to
sleep." So he went back to
sleep. Again the LORD
called Samuel, who rose
and went to Eli. "Here I
am," he said. "You called
me." But Eli answered, "I
did not call you, my son.
Go back to sleep." At that
time Samuel was not familiar with the LORD, because the LORD had not
revealed anything to him as
yet. The LORD called
Samuel again, for the third
time. Getting up and going
to Eli, he said, “Here I am.
You called me." Then Eli
understood that the LORD
was calling the youth. So
he said to Samuel, "Go to
sleep, and if you are called,
reply, Speak, LORD, for
your servant is listening."
When Samuel went to
sleep in his place, the
LORD came and revealed
his presence, calling out as
before, "Samuel, Samuel!"
Samuel answered, "Speak,
for your servant is listening." Samuel grew up, and
the LORD was with him,
not permitting any word of
his to be without effect.
The word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
2
Responsorial Psalm: 40: Here am I Lord; O. Alstott
Gospel Acclamation: The Glendalough Mass; L. Lawton
Psalm 40:2, 4, 7-10
I have waited, waited for
the Lord, and he stooped
toward me and heard my
cry. And he put a new song
into my mouth and hymn
to our God.
Sacrifice and offering you
wished not, but ears open
to obedience you gave me.
Holocausts or sin-offerings
you sought not; then said I,
“Behold I come.”
“In the written scroll it is
prescribed for me, to do
your will, O my God is my
delight, and your law is
within my heart!”
Offertory: The Summons; KELVINGROVE
Will you come and follow me if I but call your name? Will go you where
you don’t know and never be the same? Will you let my love be shown,
will you let my name be known, will you let my life be grown in you and
you in me?
Will you leave yourself behind if I but call you name? Will you care fro
cruel and kind and never be the same? Will you risk the hostile stare
Should your life attract of scare? Will you let me answer pray’r in you and
you in me?
Will you let the blinded see if I but call your name? Will you set the
pris’ners free and never be the same? Will you kiss the leper clean and do
such as this unseen and admit to what I mean in you and you in me?
Will you love the ‘you” you hide if I but call your name? Will you quell
the fear inside and never be the same? Will you use the faith you’ve found
to reshape the world around through my sight and touch and sound in you
and you in me?
Lord, your summons echoes true when you but call my name. Let me turn
and follow you and never be the same. In your company I’ll go where
your love and footsteps show. Thus I’ll move and live and grow in you and
you in me.
I announced you justice in
the vast assembly; I did not
restrain my lips, as you, O
Lord, know.
1 Corinthians 6:13c-15a,
17-20
A reading from the first
Letter of Saint Paul to the
Corinthians:
Brothers and sisters:
The body is not for immorality, but for the Lord, and
the Lord is for the body;
God raised the Lord and
will also raise us by his
power. Do you not know
that your bodies are members of Christ? But whoever is joined to the Lord
becomes one Spirit with
him. Avoid immorality.
Every other sin a person
commits is outside the
body, but the immoral person sins against his own
body. Do you not know
that your body is a temple
of the Holy Spirit within
you, whom you have from
God, and that you are not
your own? For you have
been purchased at a price.
Therefore glorify God in
your body.
The word of the Lord.
Thanks be to

John 1: 35-42
+ A reading from the holy
Gospel according to John
John was standing with
two of his disciples, and as
he watched Jesus walk by,
he said, "Behold, the
Lamb of God." The two
disciples heard what he
said and followed Jesus.
Jesus turned and saw them
following him and said to
them, "What are you looking for?" They said to him,
"Rabbi"-which translated
means Teacher-,"where are
you staying?" He said to
them, "Come, and you will
see." So they went and saw
where Jesus was staying,
and they stayed with him
that day. It was about four
in the afternoon. Andrew,
the brother of Simon Peter,
was one of the two who
heard John and followed
Jesus. He first found his
own brother Simon and
told him, "We have found
the Messiah"-which is
translated Christ-. Then he
brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,
“You are Simon the son of
John; you will be called
Kephas"-which is translated Peter.
The Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to you, Lord
Jesus Christ

Communion: We Will Rise Again; D. Haas
Sending Forth: You Walk Along Our Shoreline; AURELIA
Profession of Faith
I believe in one God, the
Father almighty, maker of
heaven and earth, of all
things visible and invisible. I
believe in one Lord Jesus
Christ, the Only Begotten
Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God
from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were
made. For us men and for
our salvation he came down
from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the
Virgin Mary, and became
man. For our sake he was
crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and
was buried, and rose again
on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He
ascended into heaven and is
seated at the right hand of
the Father. He will come
again in glory to judge the
living and the dead and his
kingdom will have no end. I
believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with
the Father and the Son is
adored and glorified, who
has spoken through the
prophets. I believe in one,
holy, catholic and apostolic
Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of
sins and I look forward to
the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to
come. Amen.

1 Samuel 3: 3b-10, 19
Lectura del primer libro de
Samuel:
qué me llamaste?” Respondió Elí: “Yo no te he llamado. Vuelve a acostarte”.
Samuel se fue a acostar.
Volvió el Señor a llamarlo y
él se levantó, fue a donde
estaba Elí y le dijo: “Aquí
estoy. ¿Para qué me llamaste?” Respondió Elí: “No te
he llamado, hijo mio. Vuelve a acostarte”. Aún no
conocía Samuel al Señor,
pues la palabra del Señor no
le había sido revelada. Por
tercer vez llamó el Señor a
Samuel; éste se levantó,
fue a donde estaba Elí y le
dijo: “Aquí estoy. ¿Para
qué me llamaste?” Entonces comprendió Elí que era
el Señor quien llamaba al
joven y dijo a Samuel: “Ve a
acostarte y si te llama alguien responde: ‘Habla, Señor; tu siervo te escucha’”.

Ofrendas: Tu Eres Pedro
Tú eres Pedro y sobre esta piedra
edificaré, edificaré, edificaré mi iglesia.
BENDITO EL QUE VIENE EN NOMBRE DEL SEÑOR [x4]
Ofrendas: Piedras Vivas; Antonio Alcalde
himno a nuestro Dios.
Tu no quieres sacrificios ni
ofrendas, y en cambio me
abriste el odio; no pides
sacrificio expiatorio, entonces yo digo: “Aquí estoy.”
Como esta escrito en mi
libro: para hacer tu voluntad. Dios mío, lo quiero, y
llevo tu ley en las entrañas.”
1 Corintios 6:13c-15a, 1720
poder. ¿No saben ustedes
Glorifiquen, pues, a Dios

Juan 1: 35-42
+ Lectura del santo Evangelio según san Juan:
En aquel tiempo, estaba
Juan el Bautista con dos de
sus discípulos, y fijando los
ojos en Jesús, que pasaba,
dijo: “Éste es el Cordero de
Dios”. Los dos discípulos,
al oír estas palabras, siguieron a Jesús. Él se volvió
hacia ellos y viendo que lo
seguían, les preguntó:
“¿Qué buscan?” Ellos le
contestaron: “¿Dónde vives, Rabí?” Rabí significa
“maestro”. Él les dijo:
“Vengan a ver”. Fueron,
pues, vieron dónde vivía y
se quedaron con él ese día.
Eran como las cuatro de la
tarde. Andrés, hermano de
Simón Pedro, era uno de
los dos que oyeron lo que
Juan el Bautista decía y
siguieron a Jesús.
Gloria a ti, Señor
Jesus.

Comunión: Eres Tu, Jesús; Tony Rubi
Eres Tú, Jesús eres Tú. Eres Tú en un trozo de pan y en un poco de vino.
Qué alegría. Encontrarte, Jesús, en tu vino y tu pan! ¡Oh Señor qué consuelo saber que
me amas!
Comunión: No Temas Mas; Bob Dufford S.J.
Yo voy delante siempre.
Ven, sígueme y en Mí descansarás.
Si en los mares turbulentos sientes que te vas a ahorgar;
si en las llamas impetuosas, sientes que te quemarás;
Dichosos son los pobres que en el Reino vivirán;
Salida: Grita Profeta; Emilio Mateu
No callaran esa voz, y a nadie puedes temerle,

Christmas Thanks from SVdP
Once again we thank each and every
one of you in our St. Raphael Community who contributed to the gift card
program for the needy children in our
community this Christmas season.
Thanks to your generosity, particularly
from one large donor, in total our St.
Vincent de Paul Conference was able
to make a difference in the lives of 318
children and 154 families, many more
than last year who might otherwise not
have known the gift of giving and receiving as we celebrated the greatest
gift of all, the birth of the Christ Child.
Particularly touching was the gift from
a member’s granddaughter who took
her savings to buy a gift card for another child to make her Christmas special.
Three other children in one family were
adopted by a family. An additional 50
gifts were given to children thanks to
the generosity of St. Isabella School.
Among those receiving the
benefit of your goodness was a mother
living in protective housing suffering
medical problems from her past employment and being re-trained for another job; a father of four, a carpenter,
unable to work due to the rain; a single mother of three with Lyme’s disease, on disability with limited income; a father on disability due to a
work accident and family with limited
income; a young mother of three children whose husband died in a swimming accident this year. All struggling to pay rent so they have housing
leaving nothing special to give their
children at this time of the Christ
Child’s birth. All the families helped
were so appreciative and thanked you
abundantly. Please remember them in
your prayers throughout the year
14 as we remember you in ours.
Your gifts gave them the gift of hope
and knowing that others care.
This year for the ninth year,
Marin Catholic High School asked to
share in our Christmas program and
thanks to the generosity of the entire
student body, staff and faculty, gift
certificates were collected for 121 children in 46 families. This will allow the
parents to buy warm clothing for their
children and items to bring happiness
to their lives. If you have the opportunity, please thank the Marin Catholic Community for caring for those in
our community who are most in need.
We also thank all of you for
your other contributions during this
Christmas season which enable us to
continue helping those who come to us
for rental, food, utility and other assistance. Your willingness to share
makes this help possible.
Your outpouring of food donations during the Thanksgiving and
Christmas season is most appreciated.
A particular thanks to the school and
PSR communities for their commitment to feed the hungry. This need is
year round and the number of those
coming for food daily at the Rectory
Door has never been greater. Please
keep up your contributions to put food
on the tables of those not able to provide for themselves.
At this time of year, we are asked by so many worthwhile organizations to contribute to
their good work. We thought it might be helpful to remind our parishioners why the
parish is also deserving of your financial support.
5 Reasons to Support Saint Raphael Parish
We’re here when you most need us. Whether you are looking for spiritual
nourishment in the daily and weekly Masses, to have your children baptized, to prepare for and celebrate a marriage, to have a family member
anointed when they are sick or celebrate their life when they are deceased—your parish is here in these significant moments.
We support families in the religious education of children. Forming and
fostering our children in the Catholic faith is a team effort. Saint Raphael
helps to lay the foundation through the Parish School of Religion, religious
education in the parish school, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, the Confirmation Program and Youth Ministry opportunities. Whether or not you
have children, we can all agree that this is an essential role of the parish.
We provide numerous opportunities for communal celebration. It is an important part of our Catholic faith that we come together to share and celebrate—through Masses, devotions and cultural festivities.
We provide a space and place for personal prayer and meditation. At those
times when we need a special quiet place to spend time with God, Saint
Raphael makes the Mission Chapel available every day.
Saint Raphael Parish reaches out to community to demonstrate Christ’s love
and caring. The St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Contact Committee,
Dinners for the Unhoused, the Gabriel Project, and the Marin Organizing
Committee are just a few groups that Saint Raphael supports and assists in
their good works to the larger community.
We invite all parishioners to consider what you can give over the next year and make a
commitment of your weekly offering. Commitment brochures are at the church doors.
Your support makes possible all that the parish does every day and we are most
grateful.
