A Christmas Cantata presented by QUEEN OF THE APOSTLES CATHOLIC CHURCH & On this fourth and final Sunday in Advent we focus our LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE HOLY COMFORTER attention less on the second coming of the savior and MUSIC MINISTRIES more on the celebration of his coming among us as the Word made flesh at Christmas. The readings set CDs Available for sale after Masses the tone for us and help us to remember that Christ's or in the Church Office presence among us heralds a future for all who come Donation: $15 each 2/$25 3/$30 to believe in him: an eternal future! I hope your celebration of this Advent time has been meaningful Proceeds benefit the choir’s Rome trip and blessed. I pray that your celebration of Christmas will also nourish your faith. If you are traveling to be with family, we pray for traveling mercies -- and do the same for family members and guests who may be coming to join you here. Ministry Moments: Again this weekend we offer you the opportunity to obtain a CD of our parish Christmas Cantata. In fact, buy a few as stocking stuffers or offer to family and friends to enhance their Christmas spirit. It is so well done and you will be helping the choir with a good cause: its ability to accept an invitation to sing in an international concert at St. Peters in Rome. CDs are available in the narthex of the church. The Christmas schedule is once more available in the bulletin this weekend. Place it in an easily accessed space at home so you can reference our celebrations. Remember that space is at a premium, so try and plan your arrival times -- especially for the first Mass on Christmas Eve, celebrated in the MAK Family Life Center. We accommodate as many folks as we are able but sadly each year must turn some away in order to comply to safety and fire regulations. The parish office will close on December 23 at 12:30 PM and not reopen until Monday morning, December 29. It will also be closed on New Years Day. If we can assist you with any parish business, please see us during regular office hours apart from these times. Next weekend is our monthly food collection. I know that the holiday will "get in the way" of remembering this routine, but I hope you will be generous so that we can assist the Community Relief Organization (CRO) in Mount Holly with non-perishable food items from your pantry at home. Thank you for thinking of others beyond Christmas Day! Be blessed this week! - Father Frank Traffic Ministry Traffic can be a hindrance to everyone as they leave church on Sundays and try to get onto Main Street. For this reason we have our heroes of Traffic Ministry! A group of about 15- 20 people who work together to help the flow of traffic – whether on Sundays at the 9:45 and 11:30 am Masses, Christmas services, or other special events – allows everyone to safely leave our parish. Members get to wear neon vests, have power in the wave of a hand, and are the face of the parish with a smile each week. If you are interested in being a part of this ministry, please contact Walt Hinson at 704-904-0743 or [email protected]. Quilt Raffle The homebound ministry would like to thank all who helped to make the raffle a success. With your help we raised $6245 for our building fund. Clay Kriechbaum of Eden, NC was the winner. We are blessed to have the support of so many of you. We would especially like to thank the women who donated their time, talent and materials in making the quilt, all who helped with organizing the raffle, selling tickets, and to all who helped by purchasing tickets!
