ROMERIA EN HONOR A SAN ANTONIO ABAD Y
NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA ESPERANZA
In 1981 another festive act was added to the celebrations: La Romería. Over the years these acts
took their own protagonism, having to separate the days of celebration. Currently the pilgrimage
has a great acceptance, counting on the participation of neighbors and folk groups of the whole
island, being one of the first folkloric manifestations that are celebrated every year in the Canary
Islands. Among the audience attendees are mainly tourists from El Puerto de la Cruz and other
municipalities.
Among the folkloric manifestations of this pilgrimage we must mention the Dance of La Florida
and the well-known Tango of La Florida, singular expressions of the rich folklore of the area and
especially of this neighborhood villero.
