Guatemala, uno de los 10 países más vulnerables al cambio climático y variabilidad climática en el mundo está haciendo esfuerzos nacionales al incorporar sus compromisos internacionales en el Sistema de Planificación Nacional. La Delegación guatemalteca ha dado a conocer que Guatemala cuenta ya con: un Consejo Nacional de Cambio Climático, una Política Nacional de Cambio Climático (ésta última que fue la base para el desarrollo de la “Ley Marco de Cambio Climático”, considerada como una de las primeras en Latinoamérica_) y un Plan de Acción Nacional de Cambio Climático. (Este considera los compromisos del NDC y el Acuerdo de Paris.) El objetivo del Plan de Acción Nacional de Cambio Climático quizás sea la estrella de Guatemala porque no muchos países han llegado a preparar este Plan todavía. El mismo nos da los lineamientos que el Estado pueda accionar en Cambio Climático. Guatemala ratificó ayer el Acuerdo de Paris, y ha enviado sus instrumentos legales a la Sede de Naciones Unidas en Nueva York. Guatemala, is one of the 10 most vulnerable nations to climate change and climate variability in the world who is making national efforts to incorporate its international commitments in the National Planning System. The Guatemalan Delegation has held an Event in which it has announced that Guatemala already has: a National Council on Climate Change, a National Policy on Climate Change (the latter was the basis for the development of the Framework Law on Climate Change, considered one of the first in Latin America) and a National Action Plan for Climate Change. (This has the commitments of the NDC and the Paris Agreement.) The goal of the National Action Plan for Climate Change is perhaps the star of Guatemala, because not many countries have come to prepare this Plan yet. It gives us the guidelines that the State can act on Climate Change. Guatemala ratified yesterday the Paris Agreement commitment, and has sent its legal instruments to United Nations Headquarters in New York.
